I have been working at RPS Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are better than most companies out there. The people are great to work with. Casual atmosphere. Management cares about all the employees and regularly plans outings or team building activities.

    Cons

Internet speed is way too slow for the data we are downloading. Everyone in the office has faster internet at home. If I need to download something large I'll wait and do it at home.

I worked at RPS Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Full time benefits while working as a contractor. Flexibility of a contractor to rotate thru various positions while still maintaining the assembly of being under one company for a period of time. This is especially important on a resume.

    Cons

As a outsourcedo employee you were not in a closed proximation to management. Your location was with the customer. This proved to be difficult when dealing with human resources or another internal departments at the CRO.

I worked at RPS Group full-time

    Pros

Provides a good opportunity to see how a company should not be run and how employees should not be treated.

    Cons

Employees are overworked and harshly underpaid. Working long days and weekends is an expectation. The few training that is provided is frequently pushed off when clients cause extra work. Project managers don't ask employees how long tasks will take before promising deliveries to clients, then expect employees to complete tasks. Every minute of your time is tracked and often written off since project managers and accounting don't understand how long the work actually takes and how much they should have budgeted for projects. Junior staff does the majority of the work, but senior staff is given credit for work and client is billed as if senior staff did work. Salaries were frozen and then cut 20% while company spent $20 million in cash to acquire another company. Company management cares about themselves while exploiting their employees every chance they have to make an extra buck.

    Advice to Management

Stop exploiting your employees and start taking care of them. Stop operating on a short term plan that only considers the company as a whole, and start developing a long term plan for the individual business streams that make up the company.

    Pros

    Just can' t of any.

    Cons

They lay off staff then advertise for the same. Unable to forecast which puts their staff in a precarious position. Very poor communications, no open channels of communications. Company does not empower their staff, holding on too close to the keys of the kingdom. No training to advance the staff, completely stagnate.

    Advice to Management

Consider your own staff before laying off and re-hiring for the same position

    Pros

Great lifestyle job. 5-7 weeks offshore. Then 5-7 weeks off.

    Cons

Very unstable. You are kept in the dark about everything. I was there forever and I never even got the dignity of being told they didn't need me anymore. They just kept dangling the carrot telling me of potential projects, instead of just cutting the cord. Project coordinators kept their friends assigned to projects overlooking other employees and then would write bogus emails saying there are no projects when I asked for work.

    Advice to Management

    Be more transparent.
