This place is doomed

Pros

They paid me on time.

Cons

This place is the embodiment of how companies were run 30 years ago. There is a small group of Executives who hire and appoint managers, often from people who have no skill being managers. The Executives then give no support, guidance, or power to those managers. You are left twisting in the wind. The best part is that working here is like being in Office Space. The parties are these drab awful boring experiences that are forced on you, just like the scene with the cake. Managers just stand around telling each other how awesome they are doing while Rome burns around them. The entire place just reeks of misery. They hire somebody who comes in all perky and full of ideas, and that person quits in under a year. They are going to have to change or they die off, unable to hire anybody but mindless robots.

Thank you for your feedback and the Company always looks for feedback so that we can continue to grow and improve. We were just voted a Top Place To Work by the Austin American Statesman in November 2015; and this is an award that is voted on by the employees and not management. Thank you for expressing your concerns and warm regards.

Wants to act like a "big boy" but can't drop little boy practices

Pros

- Fairly relaxed dress-code for hourly employees

Cons

- Must always maintain the IMAGE of working hard, regardless of whether or not you actually are (suck-ups are always rewarded instead of those that earn it through merit) - Mgmt refuses to let you work from home/remotely even if it's a position that can easily and feasibly do so - Mgmt is cheap and refuses to spend resources for quality hires. Instead they brag about promoting from within, when in reality, they're just promoting people into higher mid-level management positions that have no business being there just so they can pay them well under market value and then blame them and fire them if/when a major issue arises. - Customer ID information security is not taken seriously. Corners are cut by mgmt to save money in multiple areas. - HR and upper management come on Glassdoor and make false positive employee reviews. I know this for a fact. They get a couple of negative reviews in a row, and suddenly in the span of a few days, multiple new generic, positive reviews pop up with nothing truly negative to say about the company. Really? Come on.They're just trying to offset the negative reviews.

Pros

There are some genuinely nice people there.

Cons

Well, I was there for 14 months, and went away for Christmas vacation and enjoyed some time with my family. When I returned, I learned that my boss had left the company. Another VP was acting as his replacement. I was told on Monday "not to worry" but by Friday I was called into the VP's office and informed that my services were no longer required. They gave me a 3 week severance and wished me well. Surprisingly, when I went to file an unemployment claim I learned that they reported to the State of Texas that I had been "fired with cause", which is odd since they paid me a 3 week severance, and never told me to my face or in writing that they were firing me. In fact, they had given me a $50 bonus at my 1 year anniversary. I was totally blindsided. I would not trust these guys any further than you can throw them. Take what you earn and be ready to move on, because you are disposable to them.
