I worked at Retalix full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great employees and fun company functions made working here enjoyable. The company grew from acquisitions over the years but still maintained the small business culture.

    Cons

Occasional communication issues between teams caused problems hindering project releases, but these were often dealt with in a timely manner .

    Pros

The culture, products and people were excellent. The management were caring , focused and allowed the high quality talent the opportunity to produce good results without being micromanaged. My direct report was excellent.

    Cons

They served bagels every Friday which led to people eating to many tasty treats. This of course showed the employees that a caring management was in place.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on good products, treating customers and employees with high respect and maintaining a good vision for the company.

    Pros

My teammates. What a great group!

    Cons

Once again, new investors come in and hack the company up to show a quick ROI and then sale the company to another gullible investor. It reminds me of flipping houses. It takes very little talent to slash and cut! True talent and leadership is demonstrated by building an organization that is truly committed to its customers, communities and employees.

I worked at Retalix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Front-line people care about their customers but feel compromised by the limitations of the Supply Chain solutions.

    Cons

Old-school management runs the place on a quarter-to-quarter basis. Will "give away the store" at the end of every quarter in an effort to make their number. These actions were very demoralizing (and costly) to commissioned sales reps. Solutions are the result of multiple acquisitions over the years but none are integrated or well supported. Little to no modernization efforts/investments. Most uncomfortable situation in a 15+ year career in sales -- never felt confident in what I was told our products could do.

    Advice to Management

Figure out if you want to be in this business or not. Staying in it will require some significant investments in the products. Engage the front-line sales/ops team if you want the skinny on management and the products - your leadership is not being honest with you.

I worked at Retalix full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, 401K match (with NCR acquisition)

    Cons

Israelis run the show - my way or highway. Can't understand why NCR hasn't taken the reigns. Weird work ethics - "F" bombs are common in everyday language in a white collar job. If your boss is Israeli, all I can say is - get the hell out of here. They will favor their kind so shamelessly and run all over you. On top of it, lots of people with no degree and experiences like store clerks/cashiers athe numbers- made to be Directors and Principals. beware of their 'professionalism'!! Only emphasis is achieve Targets. Management will clearly tell you they are not interested in growing your career or investing in your learning. What amazes me is the shameless attitude by big bosses. If you are in Supply Chain Management (GEMS) and you are the kind who is a true professional, watches what he says, and does work honestly- you are the worst match for this place. Do yourself a favor and start looking elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Retalix top management has worked only at Retalix all their lives. they can't probably get a job elsewhere. They will never leave. You gotta leave. I hope and pray NCR takes charge of mis-management going on even after the acquisition.

I worked at Retalix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good insurance, upbeat atmosphere with positive attitudes. Most employees from Israel and very polite.

    Cons

Way too many meetings, upper management didn't care too much about lower guy on todem pole when issues arose. They seemed rather arrogant during those times.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees. Try to see other points of view.
