    Pros

    - flexible work, you choose what shifts you want to work
    - get to see a wide range of events
    - meet some very friendly people
    - the top management are reasonable and quite professional
    - you get given free uniform, some companies make you pay

    Cons

    - sometimes very long hours i.e. 17hours but this is normal for the industry
    - you'll be penalised if you don't accept all shifts by being offered less
    - the company promotes inexperienced people who are family members/partners of current supervisors
    - sometimes you won't get given a break
    - if you finish your shift early the company cuts your pay but will still profit from their contract with a client, so they evidently do not care to pass on professionalism to their own contracted staff
    - be prepared to work with inexperienced contractors from other companies who don't know how to use a radio
    - signing in and out is archaic. Dozens if not scores of people all crowded round one sheet of paper to simply write down a time
    - some supervisors will talk to you like dirt or like you're just a number on a sheet

    Advice to Management

    - bring in a professional business consultant to professionalise your company away from a family ran friendship-based business model
    - Bring your recruitment process into the 21st century
    - use electronic signing in means via an app
    - make your staff feel valued by increasing pay and recruitment standards and they will be more productive and less likely to fail to meet expectations
    - create an online timesheet and calendar for staff shifts, it'll streamline the business and stop confusion of your inexperienced office staff asking people if they've accepted another shift
