Pros

Great place to start as a new teacher, so much to learn. They train you and give you time to get on your feet and find your teacher voice and your own way of teaching. A lot of opportunities to grow as a teacher due to the hands on involvement of assistant principals who are there to always guide you. You are truly never on your own. And there is ample opportunities to collaborate with other teachers.

Cons

Very toxic management, once got told they would fire me if they wanted to, and the principal once shouted at me infront of my kids all because of book covers amd that some learners were not underlining religiously in their books as they should. Learners know they can get you fired for the little things so you are forever walking on egg shells. There was favoritism because leadership were friends with other teachers and thus would not get into trouble to things. You get scrutinized for keeping to yourself. Leadership tends to make you feel less than during class visits and learners can see that and it can affect how they see you. Having SPARKFly everyday is draining. Takes away from class time as well. Work hours are a nightmare, this thing of prepping your board everyday is too much, we barely had time for prep and this always left late. You have to do lesson plans every week, submit and get graded for them like you're in varsity. Then youre told how to teach your lesson, taking away your voice and autonomy as a teacher in your own class. Teachers earn the same salary even though there are those who do morw work than others. My Grade had 130 learners and another grade had 80 learners but we got paid the same vem though we had more workload and less prep time, they had less workload and more prep time. Teachers are forever absent, you are always expected to cover their classes. No provident fund so that one I didnt like
