    Negative Outlook

I worked at Sandvik full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits - Some old timers left with a lot of industry knowledge to learn from.

    Cons

Endless management reorganization. Intellectual capital and good managers are leaving. Many managers have insufficient knowledge or experience to manage sales teams and above. Ethical issues. Code of conduct isn't adhered to, problems just get swept under the carpet. Marketing seems lost.

    Advice to Management

Diversity and inclusion is great when it works, quit promoting and hiring just to fit expectations. Listen to the people who are in touch with your customers. Listen, listen, listen. Sales is what drives your business, find a way to positively motivate your sales teams, because it doesn't exist anymore. Start with the managers.

I worked at Sandvik full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Fantastic benefits package.
Overtime opportunities including over 8 hrs. daily.
The company continues to attempt to find ways in which to improve morale in a multi-cultured environment.

    Cons

    Work opportunities are extremely limited.
    Poor communications processes.
Work hours are less than favorable from 12:30 p.m. - finish (11:45 pm on occasion)

    Advice to Management

Develop strategies to encourage proactive involvement of all workers vs. a select few by defining performance indicators for individual tasks such as accuracy, problem solving, production, etc. for each intermediary skill level, such as picking, packing, training, etc., the benefit of which would be the option to advance into the next skill level. Making the level move an option and not a requirement yet a necessity for movement may encourage individual workers to be more proactive by establishing a sense of accomplishment which takes the brainstorming task off of management as well as the employee accusations towards management for not caring. Allowing workers the option of further one on one training with an area they may be facing difficulties with and a sign up sheet to schedule further one on one will establish a sense of accountability.

ALSO, create a more private work station into which management may go to writeup disciplinary action reports to prevent leakage of actions being taken.
