Pros

Serene office setting with onsite gym and nature trails.

Cons

Racist comments go unchallenged. Referring to African-Americans by the "n" word should be fireable offense.

Seagull Scientific has never condoned or tolerated such abhorrent language in our workplace. Any incidents of racist, sexist or demeaning behavior of any kind must ALWAYS be reported immediately to our human resources director. Our founder and chairman says, “The goodwill of our employees and customers is our most valuable asset, so we treat everyone with the same dignity and respect we wish for ourselves.” This is part of our corporate DNA, and our workplace reflects these values.

Small company, seemed understaffed

Pros

Flexible start times for most employees, good benefits, if you have a good knowledge base for the position for which you are applying, you can succeed and probably grow over time

Cons

poor work/life balance from many employees, as it is a small software company you are going to be working from home a lot along with office hours. There may not be good mentoring resources as the staff on hand is already overloaded and may not have time to share experience. Many times you will just go it alone and try your best. Not an ideal way to gain confidence in your chosen field

While some teams may occasionally be understaffed, most are now at full capacity, and we continue to hire in anticipation of sustained global growth at our current unprecedented rate.

Pros

The company benefits are great and the location is very nice. The software developers are intelligent and generally fix things quickly.

Cons

The work culture is horrid and it feels very repetitive with no variation or improvement. There is no direction in terms of where you should go or excel at.
