Pros

Smart group of people, some of the best in the industry. Diverse range of clients. Most people are friendly and helpful. Good work life balance, depending on your team. Bonuses are reasonable, depending on your team.

Cons

Promotion opportunities often arise only when others leave. Expect 10 years before progressing into an adviser role. High staff turnover. Elitist mindset in some areas of the business. Very busy environment, expect some late nights and weekends. Who you know can matter more than what you know. Significant expectation to ingratiate yourself with management. Promotions are often pre-approved, yet everyone is still required to go through interviews and case studies, which can feel like a waste of time. Frequent changes in senior management have made the environment difficult to navigate. Salary is below market. Inhouse investment options and platforms choices are fairly vanilla, giving the business a “factory-like” feel.
