I worked at Shipcom Wireless (More than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful people to work with. Respect is given when it's earned. Fair compensation. A fair degree of autonomy, very little micromanagement. Receptive to ideas/suggestions. Very quick to give credit where credit is due and recognize top performers.

    Cons

Some disconnect between management and the healthcare culture. The nuances of a clinical environment and their impact on decision making was not given sufficient value in planning, coordinating, and creating a solution that was palatable to clinicians.

    Advice to Management

Understand the culture. Embrace the fact that the vendor is not the priority, and listen to your people that have decades of experience in the environment. Promising timelines based on factors that don't respect the customer's environmental nuances is damaging to long-term success.

I worked at Shipcom Wireless (More than a year)

    Pros

Great location, nice employees, good products to work on

    Cons

CEO, has no clue on how to manage, nor run a business, continue to bringing wrong, under qualified, too many VP'S, Directors, Architects, Managers (too many chiefs, not enough Indians). As a results, lost contracts, lost great talents people, no potential businesses. From over 300 people down to plus 60, and continue on its way down, it's a shame ! I really like the people who I have met and worked with (not worked for).

    Advice to Management

Read the reviews and wake up (smell the roses) be for this company is shut down and filed for chapter 7, 9, or 11. Hire real people who wants to work, not VP'S, DIRECTORS, ARCHITECTS AND MANAGERS.

I have been working at Shipcom Wireless (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent for new graduates wanting to travel and learn to live and work in a team away from home. Decent accommodation offered and many supportive leaders/managers.

    Cons

Contractual work - no telling how long the project and position would last. Living out of a bag and away from home can have a toll on many.

    Advice to Management

Have regular employee evaluations. Identify and train low performers to avoid recurring mistakes that would delay or jeopardize the site and efforts put in by other team members.

I worked at Shipcom Wireless (More than a year)

    Pros

You have a job. Meet a lot of nice people who, just like you, have the misfortune of ending up at this company for whatever reason.

    Cons

All these "positive" reviews are so fake! Upper management are the ones writing these, or they have their "pets" going here to give these fake reviews.

Upper management treats employees like dirt. They overwork them with no extra pay. People have worked 12hr days every single day for weeks at a time with no thanks or gratitude from upper management.

You have NO CLUE about what's going on with the company as an employee, which is a very unsettling feeling. You don't know what day would be your last, no clue where the project is heading, just no idea what is going on with the company.

There's no room to grow. Where you're hired is 98% chance where you'll stay until your services are no longer needed.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, upper management is the real problem with this company. When you start treating your employees better and being more open with communicating with them, your company will do better.

I have been working at Shipcom Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a growing company moving ahead at a rapid pace, expansion is taking place in all directions.
As one of the reviews states, this company is not for people who cannot adapt and adjust to change.
Recently the benefits open enrollment took place and it is evident that the company worked really hard to negotiate best rates and plans as is evident from the orientation sessions which took place.

    Cons

All companies have downsides, none is perfect. Shipcom is no exception. The important thing is to understand "What is the company doing to correct those?" and it is evident that Shipcom takes feedback seriously from all quarters.
I saw a couple of my inputs and feedback being implemented, it might have taken some time but it did happen.

    Advice to Management

More transparent communication would be welcome
