I have been working at Sightpath Medical full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Self reliant atmosphere. No constant over the shoulder boss.

    Cons

Management does not communicate to the field as they should. Not enough oversight of management itself. Some are not who they want to appear to be. Very fake. VERY underpaid!
Some days are 16 hours! Then back at 6 am to start again.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat the field people with more respect. They are the ones in the trenches day to day.

    Pros

You have zero micro management, pretty much you do what you have to do and everybody is happy.

    Cons

Sometimes it can be hard to communicate to management.

I have been working at Sightpath Medical full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get in trouble for asking for work or offering to step in and help on projects - I list this as a pro because if you are looking to sit around, be lazy, ask no questions and take your career straight to nowhere then this may actually be the best spot for you.

    Cons

They are unprepared when bringing in new employees - expect no less than a month before your workstation is even remotely ready. The job description they advertise and interview you for will not be the job you are actually given. Instead of departments the company has something similar to high school cliques. New employees are looked down on by management and executives. Theft runs ramped as well - from missing Diet Cokes to disappearing iPods. The environment is demeaning, disorganized and drab.

    Advice to Management

Advertise jobs that actually exist within the company. Teach executives to treat employees as humans. Create an uplifting environment that would make someone want to stick around.

I have been working at Sightpath Medical full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Respect for work life balance, opportunities for advancement for those who work hard, my contributions are recognized by my boss and I in turn feel appreciated, so many smart people that like what they are doing and are happy to be there - it's contagious!

    Cons

I am always busy and always challenged. A lot is expected of employees.
Employees are held accountable - to some that's a con, but for the most part, the people that work here seem to thrive on it.

    Advice to Management

Continue to recognize employees when they do good work - it goes a long way!

    Pros

Summer hours: 8 half-Fridays between Memorial Day and Labor Day (including the Fridays on those weekends)...(used to be EVERY Friday, but at least it's something).

Very flexible with taking vacation in most cases.

    Cons

Communication between departments sucks, plain and simple.

Sales Team can do no wrong; throws the other departments under the bus whenever a customer complains.

    Advice to Management

Reign in your Sales Team...and communicate, communicate, communicate!!!!

I have been working at Sightpath Medical full-time

    Pros

This is a job that is mission oriented. It's none of the 9-5 cubicle bs. We don't work every day of the week. It's that small company mentality. Bleed for SIGHTPATH and they will recognize it. If you're entitled, lazy, arrogant or foul, look for a different place where the work you do on the frontline can be overlooked and doesn't make or break a company. SIGHTPATH is def one of those companies that lives and breathes by its employees and what they offer to the customer.

    Cons

I've been more than thrilled to work with this organization. It's hard for me to find many flaws.

    Advice to Management

    hmmmm...

    Pros

fun activities and engaged community spirit among coworkers
committed to giving back, lots of opportunities to participate or opt out
competitive salary, excellent benefits, annual bonuses, etc

    Cons

as with any job, not every employee or team mate is of the same caliber or dedication as their peers.

    Advice to Management

keep empowering the team and recognizing talent

I have been working at Sightpath Medical full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have had a great experience with Sigthpath Medical over the last few years. I enjoy the people I work with and get the opportunity to wear many hats throughout the company. The Senior Management I work under has always been supportive and has helped guide me in my career. I could not ask for a better boss! I have referred a few people to the company that have also enjoyed their positions in different departments.

    Cons

Communication can be difficult at times due to having employees across the country. We are still able to build relationships with people in the field but would be nice to see them more often.
