I have been working at SmartAnalyst full-time

    Pros

There are some teams which talk about getting 'interesting projects'. For most teams it is monotonous work on excel files.

    Cons

    1. Unacceptable hours - working 10-11 hours at a stretch, taking work home and then getting calls from manager at any hour. There is just no time for yourself.
    2. Less, uneven salary - Less salary if you couldn't negotiate in the beginning, others with less experience/education may have higher salary just because they could negotiate at the time of hiring.
    3. Very unprofessional behaviour from all managers - raised voices, multiple calls even in the midnight, rejecting leave applications, mood swings, high stress levels, humiliation and unfair behaviour is very common.
    4. Very less annual increment - not even 5% even after working day and night for this company
    5. Favouritism - Manager's pets get all the perks
    6. Smaller teams - Every team needs more people but there won't be hiring to save cost to company

    Advice to Management

Hire more people so that there is less stress. Tell managers to treat the teams like people. Motivate your employees by making things easier for them.

I worked at SmartAnalyst full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Learning experience
    Good friends
Nothing much is there to say

    Cons

    24x7 work environment

Can't go outside for Lunch (b'coz of 9 hours in time)

Multi team tasks (You won't be free even for a minute, you will ask to work for any team irrespective of your qualifications)

Btechs working for specialist pharma teams like oncology, CVM, General Medicine, HEOR etc.

Frequent late night sittings for more than 12 hours. If you are staying near office then......you don't need to go home

    No family life

    Saturday is a working day

You can't plan holidays for long weekends

    Laptop is must for weekends

    Project deliverables within short deadlines

    Advice to Management

    Improve work culture

    Maintain work-life balance

Remove restrictions for going outside for lunch, snacks etc. (1 hour break that to inside??)

Advice to managers: Assign works as per qualifications, maths background, Btechs are not a good choice for Oncology, CVM teams and pharma guy for finance team. If they do mistakes then who is held responsible? Dont assign work whenever the demand comes from any team

    Improve compensations and other benefits

Most important! maintain team balance as the attrition rate is so so much

If you dont have enough work force dont take projects

I worked at SmartAnalyst full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Challenging work.
    2. Participation all-round.
    3. No limitations in putting innovative hat.
    4. Training ground for people who have got jobs erstwhile (and still crib about environment in SA...isn't that ironical>>)
    5. Complex work and participation in the project spectrum makes you learn things quickly (though a lot depends on how passionate you are with the work given).

CAVEAT: If you are among one of a lazy bone and like copy-paste, 9-5 job, moreover don't have a lateral thinking attitude and has habit of taking a long stroll after lunch with periodical (and long) coffee breaks, PLEASE DON'T JOIN SMARTANALYST. You would be wasting your and SA time

    Cons

    1. Work force is skewed. Need more people on board to distribute projects accordingly. Sr people appears burdened sometime (or may be all time!)
    2. Ethics across the board should be strictly followed. Yes, I agree with one of the review which said that a lot of time 'F' word is uttered. I am very sure that this could be stopped. Anybody could be burdened with work and frustrated with deliverables but that doesn't mean shouting-howling on peers in GGN. We need to work as a cohesive team to achieve a common goal.
    3. Flexibility in-and-out. Though not formally structured, but this is already existing. Depending on when you stayed late or has exigencies and have reasons to support it, you can always be flexible on time.

    Advice to Management

    1. Branding initiative of SA
    2. Ignore comments from some frustrated employees who couldn't scored much while in SA.
    3. Caveat to candidates interviewed on work timings and work culture so that they can do a fine check on profile fitment. It also implies that interviews should also cover behavioral aspect of candidates
