Great place to start from beauty school to enhance skills.

    Cons

Doing some shifts alone for 6+ hrs and having to handle it all without getting their break.

    Advice to Management

No stylist should be left alone to handle the entire salon when a stylist has less than a yr experience.

I worked at SmartStyle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The location brings in a lot of walk-ins if you do not already have a clientele Management also works with your schedule.

    Cons

Corporate bases hours given to employees on last years sales, which means that even if it is busy, the store may still be understaffed and hours will be reduced.

    Advice to Management

Base hours that are given on how busy the store is currently, not on how busy the store was the year before.

I worked at SmartStyle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to continue your education

    Cons

Management was beyond poor. The actual salon managers were awesome, but the district and upper management were some of the worst people I’ve met. Workers were just that, workers. They made it clear they didn’t care.

I have been working at SmartStyle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Love the opportunity given to increase my pay from hourly to commission.

    Cons

The most challenging part of the job is the lease line. If your shy, you will get over it real fast after talking with a few customers.

    Advice to Management

Give salons a little more freedom in optimizing their hours.
