    Pros

While it does take time to build a clientele and start earning consistent commissions, it is nice to be given access to ALL products needed to have a successful hairstylist business. The fact that you are paid an hourly wage when you are building your business is a good safety net. Once I started getting repeat clients and stopped relying solely on walk-in traffic, I started to make commission on a regular basis.

    Cons

It is a struggle to keep up with all the "little" things at times. But the scorecards and goals really can help you see when you are doing well.

    Advice to Management

I think that facilitating a team environment is key for a good salon. Nobody likes working with people who don't want to work well with others.

    Pros

It's a good job when starting out with no clientele, and they teach you tools to succeed in this industry

    Cons

No complaints other than the managers need to be paid more than the stylists for the extra work that they do.

    Advice to Management

    Better salaries for managers

    Advice to Management

Be more involved with salon managers. Be aware of managers attempting to bully new employees whether stylists are fresh out of school or have been in the field a couple of decades. Respect is demanded to authority respect should also be given to the stylist.
