I have been working at SoftPro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Management is awesome and communicates well. The team really is one big family. We all support each other and help each other succeed.

    Cons

The path to advancement isn't as clear as I would like.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    I worked at SoftPro full-time

    Pros

    Flexible work form home options
Individual contributors inside each team strive to help each other
    Good benefits
    Competitive pay

    Cons

Upper management is out of touch with employees, each manager is allowed complete autonomy to treat or mistreat employees as they see fit.
There is little to no path for growth, Softpro is great place to work if you are only interested in maintaining the your present skill set and job title
Favoritism is alive and well at SoftPro, which is great if you are a member of the chosen few
Termination is done routinely without warning and there is no process for performance improvement

I have been working at SoftPro full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, random perks for being named best place to work.

    Cons

There are a lot of office politics. It's hard to move up in the company unless you're "in good" with particular management.

    Pros

Have been at this company for 4 years. Everyone is super helpful and focused on the customer. Management makes it pretty clear that the customer is the top priority. It is always super busy and a lot going on but that is par for the course in a technology company. Hard work pays off and managers know who the top employees are.

    Cons

It's still a job - but they make it as fun and challenging as it can be. Sometime people like to complain just to complain but overall management does a good job focusing on the right things.

    Advice to Management

Keep it challenging!! Keep it fun!!

I have been working at SoftPro (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They try hard to make it a fun place to work. Hard work is usually rewarded. Company is financially stable and backed by a Fortune 500 company that uses their software. They are not located in RTP makes commuting easier.

    Cons

The employees are bribed every year to give positive feedback to the Triangle Business Journal for the BEST PLACES TO WORK. Parties, extra days off and gifts are given to employees if they 'win'. Senior management doesn't follow the culture they advertise. Most internal positions already have a person ear marked when they are posted.

    Advice to Management

President/CEO seems very uncomfortable and insincere.

    Pros

Holds a significant position in the real estate closing and title insurance software industry.
Small size COULD afford it the opportunity to act like a start up in a mature market

    Cons

First off, it is not "The Best Place to Work" in the Triangle. It is simply A PLACE TO WORK in the triangle. The title of Best Places to Work is earned by employees who are "heavily" encouraged to give positive feedback to the Triangle Business Journal. There are good people who work here, but the executive management does not show any sincerity toward its employees.

    Advice to Management

Need a new President who acts like she wants to be there instead of someone who has to be there.

    Pros

The people, period. I have grown professionally and personally as a direct result of my work relationships at SoftPro.

    Cons

Not the clearest track to management. But having traveled that road, there is a path for those who seek it.

I have been working at SoftPro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

SoftPro, a division of the Fidelity family of companies, is a well run organization led by women. The main office is in Raleigh, NC and there are satellites in Phoenix, AZ and Irvine, CA and there are a number of remote positions of which I hold one for onsite support trainer. My supervisor is an excellent boss - fair, great communicator, energetic and extremely capable in her role. Others I've had contact with are also very good.

The company has a lot of incentives and team building events and win lots of awards for being a great place to work.

    Cons

The product is constantly improving...which is a good thing because it's a little cumbersome.
