Great Small Company to Work For!

Pros

The owners are hard working and genuinely care about creating a good company culture and environment. They care about you as a person, not simply as an employee. Good wage, lunch provided, 401k, great medical coverage. Tasks are varied, so you don't get bored, and I learned a lot of new things while working there. Working as a team is highly encouraged - lots of time spent around a big table together with teammates from all departments. Still a small and growing organization - I think their future is bright.

Cons

Being a small company, there was not much room for advancement.

Pros

Okay pay, benefits, community outreach, good coworkers.

Cons

Toxic "leadership", incompetence, founder's syndrome, lack of any real vision, no HR department, 401k embezzlement, harassment, mind games, manipulation... I could go on.

Pros

Decent salaries and they provide lunch for their employees.

Cons

Far to many to list them all, but take notice of the negative reviews. They speak the truth. The others were written by the owners and do not reflect the true experience of working at Spider Learning. It's a very unprofessional working environment that thrives on hostility and creating a culture that focuses on dividing the staff. They tout that you can have "Liberty PTO" but it's at the liberty of the CEO's wife. Don't dare ask for a day off though because they'll make you feel guilty about it. This while the management takes multiple vacations throughout the year. They also withheld the employee 401k contributions even though the money was taken out of our paychecks on paper. Multiple employees (both former and current) had to fight for the money that they elected to have deposited into their 401k. Also, please don't get sucked in by the high salaries and healthcare. Yes, the pay is very good, but there is NO work-life balance. Sadly, the company doesn't have any direction or idea of who they want to be. There is NO business plan. They just move from one desperation idea to make a quick buck to another. They say that they are putting kids first, but the truth is that they're putting themselves and their pocketbooks first. Do yourself a favor and find a real job as an educator. This company has no clue what is needed in the eduction space.
