    Pros

    I've worked at MGE (now Spire) for 10+ years in the engineering department. I've seen a lot of changes over my time here due to prior acquisitions, but I can confidently say I haven't enjoyed the type of work I've been doing more than what I'm doing now. Exciting projects and opportunity to learn new things

    Cons

    Work schedule can get hectic around project deadlines

    Growing company with good benefits and a great group of people to work with. The culture has changed over the last few years, but it's been a positive change.

    No opportunities for advancement

    Advice to Management

    The time I spent working with this company was the worst. There is little mentoring, leadership or job opportunities within the company for African Americans. I think that upper management should do a better job selecting supervisors, and I think that the hiring selection process should be based on. fairness instead of favoritism and race. Also, I think the company as a whole should strive for a more diverse workforce where everyone is recognized for their individual strengths, talents, and abilities.

    They offer good benefits and good pay for employees.

    There is no room for upward mobility and horrible management.

    Stop pushing your talent out the door. Start actively recruiting qualified applicants.

    Pros

    New leadership with a focus on growth through acquisitions which provides opportunities for employees willing to embrace change and personal development. The company is looking for new markets and applications for natural gas. Very comprehensive benefit package with defined pension and 401k.

    Cons

    Extremely lean which translate to significant work demands. Most work weeks are 50 hours plus. For certain positions, salary is lower than industry average.

    Pros

    Very stable company offering unlimited ability to advance and/or grow within the company. They recognized great employees and reward them accordingly.

    Cons

    Work can become monotonous some days and other days it is so crazy busy you can't find time to go to the bathroom.

    Advice to Management

    Don't give so many chances to unproductive employees. If you see someone isn't doing their job or performing it in a sub par way, replace them. I get sick of carrying my load and theirs and also feel like I'm babysitting a grown up.

    Pros

    Great benefits and good people. A very conservative attitude and if you like that then you would love it there.

    Cons

    Low pay, not a lot of chance for advancement. About 10 years behind the curve as far as IT. The company as a whole has a union mentallity.

    Advice to Management

    I would say to keep coming along. There is alot of effort going on to improve things but they are losing good people in the mean time.

    majors in minor details and does not know how to be a large company yet. Executives way down in the weeds on some things
