I have been working at Spreetail full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Present achievable goals and metrics to produce opportunities for professional development and to stretch one’s potential. Incredible community involvement. Employees are bought in to cultivating a productive, drama free, growth oriented environment. I have noticed during the hiring process, they are very different from other recruiters. They look at skill set and ability to problem solve rather than actual past job title....

    Cons

Not a con, but one must be flexible, able to pivot, problem solve, and not be afraid of new challenges that you will not have the answer for off the bat. Your team and shareholders will serve as invaluable resources to help you succeed.

    Advice to Management

I look forward to the preservation of the culture as the company continues to grow in size.

I have been working at Spreetail full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Tons of opportunities for anyone in the building to stand up new processes, standards, and general input - Consistency in hiring practices has led to a building full of genuine people. We all care for one another and have fun at work. - Variety in work. As a start-up, the business is always evolving. As a result, each day tends to look just a little bit different than the last! - Meaningful work. Everyone in...

    Cons

    - Ambiguous environment. We lean on the word ambiguous, but we should be looking for ways to eliminate it from our vocabulary. We need to continue to bring in experienced managers to help younger associates see the lighthouse through the fog. - Very fast pace. This can be a pro if it's what you're looking for. But be aware that you will be go-go-go from day one. But it does get easier (and fun!). - General start-up...

    Advice to Management

Let's do a more deliberate job of laying out a tangible roadmap for people to consult when wondering "what's next." There's a lot of fairly high-level explaining going on, but I don't think many people in the building can tell you much about the "how" behind the "what" in many cases. A clear vision from the top can help each department follow suit from a roadmap perspective.

I worked at Spreetail full-time for more than a year

    Pros

JK!! Spreetail will trick you just like this headline. My coworkers were amazing, and the company trip was fun. I did learn a lot about the e-commerce industry while I was with the company.

    Cons

When I started I was so excited to take on the role at such a cool company. For the first couple months of my employment everything seemed to be great! Great people, great culture, and opportunities. Once I got further into the role my perception of the entire company started to shift. I realized that People and Culture would have all of the new hires fill out a Glassdoor review within the first 6 months of employment....

    Advice to Management

I would give advise but they would just ignore ideas and proceed with what they think is best. I was told to take action if I saw a problem and I did many times, yet nothing was good enough. Best of luck

I have been working at Spreetail full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The ability to see your impact on the company as a new employee from the first day you start is amazing. The culture is all about innovation and adapting to changes - so new opinions and ideas are encouraged to keep improving Spreetail. While we work hard, I've been shocked and impressed at how important we've valued building relationships with teammates. The focus on people is authentic and intentional - with multiple...

    Cons

Forecasting headcount growth to align with financial performance is always difficult - so if you don't like a constantly changing plan or short-term direction, it may not be a fit for you.

    Advice to Management

Continue to think how we can scale more effectively - do the processes we used years ago still apply to what our company looks like today? Where are areas you can delegate opportunities to other teammates?

I have been working at Spreetail full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Your peers are fantastic and motivated. Lots to learn and plenty of growth opportunities

    Cons

Management doesn't listen. Management lies to employees. Work life balance could be improved. Culture is over emphasized. Collaboration is incredibly difficult across teams and almost always authoritarian across departments.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to your employees. Withholding information is okay, but lying is not. Within a month management announced the location of a company trip to cancelling it for financial reasons. It seems unlikely that the company went into financial dire straits within a month. I understand the importance of protecting the company and all the employees, but announcing something as a certainty when it wasn't is just an example...

I have been working at Spreetail full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I work alongside the most driven, talented people I’ve ever met. It’s amazing to be in a work environment where everyone is truly together on a mission toward the same goals. That’s what attracted me to Spreetail in the first place; there was never any question of what we’re working toward. We are growing rapidly, but intentionally. It would be easy to fill seats to get work done, but we want the right people who are...

    Cons

Our benefits haven’t evolved as quickly as the company has grown. We offer some really great benefits like fully paid health care and untracked time off, but I’d like to see us add industry-leading benefits like a robust wellness program or even student loan support someday. I’m encouraged by our recent 401(k) addition as a result of employee feedback, and hope we’ll continue to evolve our offering as we grow.

    Advice to Management

I can tell there's been an increased effort to improve companywide communication, and really appreciate the openness. It's refreshing to own the challenges and talk openly about them. Keep it up!

    Pros

The people are fantastic. The opportunities are endless here from an Impact perspective. The focus on personal development as an expectation is really great and unique. I learn something new every day.

    Cons

Not a lot of structure yet and figuring it out as we go. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if you're someone who needs that, it might not meet your needs.

I have been working at Spreetail full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Pay.. somewhat and slowly degrading benefits. They offer life insurance which you do need since this warehouse is not up to OSHA requirements.

    Cons

If you would like to work here just remember not to get hurt, even if it's someone else's fault you will be terminated.

    Advice to Management

Learn to actually care about human beings and not just preach about it. 4 layoffs at our warehouse due to employees being injured, it's really a great immoral business model. Shout out to the culture!

    Pros

Vendor Managers are given the opportunity to work with large accounts and take on large amounts of responsibility. Some of the people are fun to be around and it is an energetic work environment

    Cons

The company provides benefits that are made to sound amazing, but really are just used so that they dont have to pay their employees a fair wage. The upper management use the company mantras to guilt employees into working endlessly, but does not provide real compensation for those efforts.
