I worked at TNT Express part-time

    Pros

The job in of itself is not hard and the people who work there are friendly. I also liked that the job was close to home so I had a short commute.

    Cons

I was hired as a part time employee but they had me working full time hours. In addition, I didn't get any benefits either.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to update it's technology as it is far behind the times and hire managers that actually have on the road courier experience.

    Pros

International focus made for challenging, yet rewarding sales opportunities. Met with many of the largest companies in the world as a result.

    Cons

Business model was seriously flawed. No uplift out of my territory meant using commercial airlines to transport goods to TNT hub, then shipped to final destination. The result was higher pricing and slower service. Both factors made this a futile endeavor.

    Advice to Management

No longer matters, since they were acquired by Fedex awhile back. This was a major acquisition, placing them firmly at no. 1 in the Express segment.

I worked at TNT Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They had good training and development programs. Management personnel were approachable.

    Cons

Long working hours and required to work on Saturdays. Lack of work-life balance. There were meetings scheduled towards the end of the work day and often went past working hours.

    Advice to Management

Continue your engagement with the employees. Consider not staying back late at the workplace and/or expect the employees to do the same. Overall, it is a good company and provides employees with growth opportunities.

I have been working at TNT Express full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At the beginning of working I liked being able to come in and do my work and then leave without taking any stress home

    Cons

This is a high volume call center. You will answer 16 calls an hour. The goal is to get people
Off the phone as fast as possible and trick them into thinking you will take action for them. (We all laugh together at the stories we make up to customers) You spend 4 weeks training with an unprofessional traine )that just wants to talk about partying on the weekends and waste all your training time while she's on her phone texting and then wants to cram everything you need to know as fast as possible. just to navigate their out of date software. There is not phone etiquette training at all, which leaves you unprepared and insecure when you're left alone to troubleshoot through problems without any management support. If you ask your manager a question they will mark you as a problem employee. Favorites are the only ones to receive proffered treatment. You have to pretend to be their friend and tell them all about your personal life so that they can judge and talk about you behind their back, in order to be in good standing with this company. There is no room for advancement, no training, no reward system and high stress from customers frustrated that there is absolutely nothing a customer service rep can do for them.

    Advice to Management

This place is an unorganized mess. The 1 HR lady is never there and when she is, she can't answer any of your questions. There is 1 trainer that is unqualified and uninterested. There is a director that is a ghetto mess. She speaks loudly and rude, yelling throughout the call center, cackling at her friends and scowling at the rest of the employees she doesn't like. There is another lady that does nothing but email you your call stats once a week.

Great customer IT team. Team is customer centric and have strong leadership. In fact management from this department is very hands on and provides a lot of assistance.

    Cons

The business as a whole are slow to embrace customer technologies. There are road blocks from other departments that are still old fashioned in their thinking.

    Advice to Management

To be the best again you need to have your customer technology on point.
