I worked at TS Restaurants full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexibility
Great Location -- Mostly Beachside Properties
    Great Tips
    Benefits and Philanthropic opportunities
    Fun Team
    Good Food
    Good Drinks

    Cons

Communication could have been better in certain instances, but it's a busy restaurant so sometimes things get lost in translation -- understandable.

    Pros

The people are very nice! Co-workers and managers are great!!!!

    Cons

Currently, there seems to be a lack of communication between managers. The system of scheduling and cutting team members during slow hours could use some work.

    Advice to Management

    Minimize.

    Pros

Great company. We are all treated very well. Prizes, contests, regulars! We have a lot of fun while doing our jobs.

    Cons

Customer Service is always a challenge. You never know who is going to come into your restaurant everyday. Just trying to enjoy the great things about our job and not focus on the negative.

I have been working at TS Restaurants full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoy working here. There is a true family atmosphere in the day-to-day work environment. The employees work together very well, have respect for each other, and we have a good time while working. The majority of management is very approachable and respectful. Management is understanding when it comes to family obligations and the earning potential is very good overall as well. There also seems to be many opportunities to move up if you are willing to work hard and pay your dues (in longevity with the company). Employee meal provided each day prior to your shift. Many contests and opportunities to earn company promo for food and drinks. Also, 50% discount for employees and their family is great. They have food and drink runners at my restaurant. This is great because less time is spent running around delivering food and drinks and you have more time to spend with customers. (However, keep in mind that you also tip out to the runners and bussers as well!) TS also gets involved in the local community by offering opportunities to volunteer for local causes. Overall a great place to work!

    Cons

Off season is decreased earning potential, so must save for that time period. A little overstaffed at times, but that is because this island is so transient and many people come and go. I assume management figures its better to be overstaffed than understaffed.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Great environment. The people were very fun and you get a great discount on food which is great for getting to eat good food for cheaper.

    Cons

Variable hours and very dependent on time of year. Management varies on strictness of enforcing different policies

    Negative Outlook

I worked at TS Restaurants part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good money not because of quality tips but high volume. Always busy due to location

    Cons

Young management staff behave inappropriately with staff. Inconsistent management. Major favoritism. Many unhappy employees that are overworked and very very unappreciated. Only favorites get promoted.

    Advice to Management

None. Too much of the management is involved to change the ways. Compensate your employees more. They really work hard and deserve real benefits or compensation not "dukes bucks"

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at TS Restaurants full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Met a lot of friends. Good money and great food. Loved the location.

    Cons

Management was often immature and also uneducated. Most managers did not have a college degree and often made fun of employees who did. Sexual harassment and bullying is a huge issue that was often swept under the carpet. Also, management tended to fraternize with it's employees, often hurting or getting employees fired. Management had no real vision other than employing it's current model. It's a good ole' boys club that has no real interest in cultivating professionalism and ingenuity in their employees. Mangers were often hypocritical and unethical.

    Advice to Management

Grow up! Get an education and be professional.

    Pros

Awesome training program that stresses 'connecting with guests' and 'building long lasting relationships with guests as family' They really treat everyone with respect -the Aloha Spirit is felt from all levels of management!

    Cons

They only have 13 locations, so the options to go into management are few (even though they promote from within, which is great). That coupled with the fact that NO ONE ever leaves, can make it challenging to move up.

    Advice to Management

keep doing what you are doing -your employees love working for you!

    slow moving career wise
    locations only on west coast

    Advice to Management

rewarding hard work and dedication….if you can't move someone up, try to compensate them for their hard work
