I worked at Teleplan International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent starting pay. Good Benefits and time off allotment once you are hired on as a Teleplan employee. Work is interesting. Co-workers are generally good people and willing to help you as needed.

    Cons

Long overtime hours especially at the end of the month. Can be forced to overstay your shift on a consistent basis to hit production numbers. Can be difficult at times to elevate within company. Don't expect yearly bonuses or raises from this company as a regular thing. These are done occasionally, at the discretion of the site manager.

    Advice to Management

More regular raises and less mandatory overtime leads to less turnover and less stress for employees, which in turn, leads to better production from longer-tenured workers. What may benefit you today and look good on in-the-moment daily reports ends up with poor attitudes and a high-stress environment which results in poor numbers tomorrow. Too much short-sightedness by upper-level management to impress their supervisors today which trickles down on their employees.

    Pros

There is plenty of places to hide out. They are so disorganized and focused on raising up just a few people, that if you aren't a problem, you can skate by.

    Cons

no processes. everything is a work around to try and fool Cisco. They make up part locations, production metrics and policies depending on who they are trying to BS or screw over. It's really hard to move up unless you know someone, even if you are a high performer.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to pull the wool over the employees and customer's eyes. Try leveling up and making some REAL changes. They move out a person or 2, but the core club stays the same.

I have been working at Teleplan International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    It's a job for experience.

    Cons

The powers to be are so busy trying to cut costs that it's compromising the process flow by cramming the business units into buildings together leaving no room for fluidity thus working the teams harder not smarter. Creating an unorganized chaos for the Demo Loan Program to be moved into a building on the complete opposite side of a dock and having to create a highway to get material moved in and out thru another business unit? It should be interesting watching the people try to keep the material accurately identified and not be mixed up having to zip zag the layout to be staged appropriately. The Allentown warehouse that was built inefficiently. We are told we can't use the top level of the warehouse meeting the demands of palatalization for the support team over there is heinous so at least the Washington building will be efficient in those regards. The Alentown building does not have the info structure to host what is being put in there. And the Teleplan way is to rig it to pass limiting the flexibility to organize it efficiently. The BU's that are there are powered by power cords, and the major thoroughfare in the middle of the warehouse is a major safety hazard with single rows being used with no safety fence. There is a cage being built enclosing the only grade level door also limiting the resources to multiple business units being housed there. The parking is limited with the amenities limited to handle the amount of employees they are transferring it should be checked with the county to be sure they are following labor codes. This goes hand in hand with the madness in the Washington and Industrial buildings. The engineers are laying these things out to "fit" that is about it. These plans are crippling the business units and destroying moral more and more everyday.

    Advice to Management

You are running the teams ragged and will continue to lose those who work smarter not harder in the name of common sense so instead of playing puppet to the powers to be you might want to reinforce your teams otherwise face the music when this all hits the fan. The announce and run messages are not being received well. All these plans are being announced with no formidable plan to facilitate and make it work. The rampant discouragement will be the self destruction of this company. Changes are not happening as we were falsely led to believe they would. Program managers and managers are becoming sparsely available to make plans and assist the BU's in their ultimate inevitable demise. This company needs to be real with intentions as all trust and belief is gone.

I have been working at Teleplan International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Finally put someone that is fair and a great example in HR for management. Hopefully she can correct the issue of nepotism., uneducated HR support who is rude. And doesnt treat all employees the same, a few have "left" but still some here.

    Cons

poor communication to employees. Allows nepotism, harrassment of all types.we all have seen the boys club in action even as a MH.

    Advice to Management

Treat people fairly. Stop standing up for the employees who do nothing because they are a friend or your affraid of how it may effect your employment. Perform the job your hired to do. Stop the obvious nepotizm and unleash their supporters who are part of the whole problem. Specifically its getting harder to sit through your all hands meetings when you feed of bs and expect us to buy it. Alot of your good emoyees have left on their own or let go( not sure what to believe because all of your secrets leak) wake up, stop recognizing the wrong people. I have been employed here for 5 yrs and you have employees working hard and employees who come and go when they want. Check your managment and your IT and yourself. INTEGRITY to some degree would be a start. Im fed up and its a great market. Good luck !

At this company you will meet people of various cultures.

    Cons

Management is almost gang-like (aka the Teleplan Mafia).

    Advice to Management

Instead of burning talent, i.e. those who challenge the status quo, promote from within and designate new responsibilities and tasks to those who seek to improve the company.

    Pros

    - There is a high level of teamwork.
    - Leads, supervisors, and managers are all approachable.
    - The benefits are great.
    - There are group activities a few times a year. It's cool to get together with everyone outside of work once in a while.
    - Management team tries to make things more pleasant. Popsicles are available in the summer, lunch is often provided on Saturday, there are typically snacks provided once or twice a month, and cupcakes whenever someone has a birthday!

    Cons

    - The heat in the summertime is pretty intense. There is no AC on the floor Fans are provided but it is still over 80 degrees for several weeks out of the year.
    - It seems like new business comes to other sites more frequently than it comes to Harrisburg. There are a lot of smart, hard working people here that would like the opportunity to advance. It does seem like most of the leadership positions are filled with internal candidates, but it would be great if there were more opportunities overall.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing for more business. It would be great to fill the site. Push to develop the same capabilities that other Teleplan sites have.

I worked at Teleplan International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you absolutely need a full time job and you’re not a complete moron, they will give you one; with benefits. If you have good luck with raffles and can come up with the most amazing Halloween costume, you may win big at a company party.

    Cons

Where to begin…oh yea at the top. Please keep in mind, this is specific to the Roseville site only. Biggest con of all…..the false sense of being able to work your way to the top, a con in all sense of the word. If you are not a man (emphasis on the man) or a member of the well know “boys club” you will get nowhere. The false sense of caring at the very top is pure propaganda, don’t fall for it. As another review mentions, promotion is based on who you know and not what you do. Program Management are puppets of the Senior Leadership Team, all of which are men, quite a bit of chauvinist ones at that (it’s not common to hear of sexual harassment, gender/sexual discrimination or derogatory references toward women from the guys on top). If you’re a woman please be prepared for blatant lack of respect and don’t expect to be seen as an equal or competent. Leadership clearly does not have the prowess to cut the cancer, analyze the worth of the top paid employees or the know how to work to create a respectable, innovative, positive management team. Management runs wild upon its own free will. Whether that will be; never showing up to work, having it out for someone they don’t like or puffing their feathers around the warehouse to fill their own shallow souls. The company has great potential to be successful not only in the way it treats employees but in it’s position as a tech company in a prime location (close to Silicon Valley and in the heart of a growing industrial location) with capability to lend itself to the ever changing electronic industry. How does an entire site become dependent on one large business when there are a plethora of existing electronic companies not far away? If only there were influencers and innovators to kick start the top!

    Advice to Management

Rather than trying to manage this Glassdoor account you may want to try managing management. By the way, great work on the positive/less than great reviews you’ve posted here to try to balance out the negative. Unfortunately, it is pretty clear which reviews are real. To those on top in Roseville, become a part of the growth, know what you are hiring and promoting. Investigate your biggest investments, are they really worth what you’re paying them? Think outside of the box, you’re not selling paper mills, you literally have a hand in the biggest industry of our time and your letting big egos with little value weigh you down.

I worked at Teleplan International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

HR has holiday events. Contests and prizes. Some fun stuff. $$ now stripped going to who?

    Cons

Left after 8 years. Once proud company now kneels to Cisco. Bonus program scrapped leaving disgruntled crew. No one cares. No reason to. Employees spend more time on cell phones than working. No way Teleplan survives to the $15 minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

Instead of wasting money taping the floor over and over, how about paying the employees. Not having to walk a 1/4 of a mile to your car would be nice.
