Pros

The pantry is always well stocked. But then, it has to be, considering the amount of OT hours staff spent here. Office is quite clean.

Cons

Oh boy where do I start. - this one arrogant boss who plays blatant favoritism. If he doesn’t like you he’s hell bent on making your life miserable. He singles you out and humiliates you in front of others. He doesn’t protect his team and only cares about making clients happy. He likes to micromanage his team to the point that it will drive you insane. - certain creatives who are filled with self-righteousness and has a holier than thou attitude, making them difficult to work with. - the amount of OT one has to do is insane. But your hard work will not be recognized unless you are on the boss’ good list. Otherwise, your OT will be attributed to being unproductive and procrastination. - little to no staff benefits. - career progression depends on the boss’ whim. - salary offered is pathetic and can remain stagnant. No bonus of any kind. - despite being a small (ish) company the amount of office politics is stunning while on the surface everyone pretends to be all chummy. - no organizational structure whatsoever. Overall, 0/10, would not recommend this company to anyone.

Pros

“Shared pain brings people together” - Association for Psych Science. So you’re bound to make lifelong friends there.

Cons

BOSS: Not a day goes by without a racist, sexist or offensive comment from the boss. He refers to colleagues by their appearance (e.g. fish lips/fat girl). Better enter a meeting photoshoot ready as all he does is zoom in on your face, collage it and send it to people around the office. But NEVER laugh at him. A colleague got fired for rolling her eyes at him. If you’ve always dreamt of starring in Survivor, this place is for you. Boss also likes to single out people for one on one conversations. He will twist your words, create his own conclusion and tell other colleagues that that’s what you said. Frenemies are the norm and everyone’s backs are full of scars. CREATIVE STANDARD: ADs ask non-creatives what’s a KV, what’s the social media template. Maybe they should be asking what’s google. Insights and strategy are non-existent so executionally driven ideas are the norm (but no $$ so bingo cards sort of execution). Sometimes if you’re lucky you’ll hear five wtf ideas in a row and realise that you were made for better things! It’s no wonder they’re losing clients and gaining none. Forget about leaving work on time, regardless of if you’re pregnant/getting married at night/rushing to hospital. It’s normal to leave at 6am and come back in at noon. Honestly, don’t bother, if you won’t dine at a place that might give you food poisoning, why work at a place that will give you cancer?

Pros

The people are solid. I guess that's what happens when you have a nightmare boss that you can bond over.

Cons

The boss is also the owner, so he liberally shouts at you in front of everyone. Cusses at you and doesn't invest in employees. All he cares about is hiring fresh grads/ people changing industries so that he can pay them below market rate. Expect $2.5k or less.
