Pros

Colleagues are always friendly and approachable, which is the only reason you stay longer than you should.

Cons

It's a compliment to any company when an employee wants to progress within their business. Unfortunately rpa isn't one of those businesses that recognises this. You're consistently performing the added duties way above your job description and have proven you can do it. However, you have to struggle really hard with senior management to even dare to ask for a promotion or even a pay rise. This is followed by a lot of 'I'll get back to you' and 'leave it with me' if you're lucky, for months, I've seen colleagues wait over a year. You can't book a meeting to ask for progress as they're too busy or will always cancel. Sometimes you have to threaten to leave in order to be taken seriously. This is not just through personal experience, I've worked with exemplary colleagues throughout the years there who have done this and eventually left. When employees leave (which was a lot in my time there), management need to recognise it's how they view and manage staff and internally change, not always using the blame culture of the employee who left. Don't let their words of staff retention or staff well being distract you from what I believe and experienced to be simply a tick box exercise.
