Good place for entry level experience. Not good for long-term growth.

    Pros

The benefits are competitive. They pay for your health benefits, however if you want your family on them you have to pay for them. Company match on 401K is very generous. Employee discount is the best perk. Two sets of all season/two sets of winter tires at or below cost per year. Two sets of summer/winter wheels at or below cost per year. Unlimited (within reason) other parts at or below cost. There are lots of events that happen at Tire Rack with employee engagement. Regular profit sharing at the end of the year (very small amount). Owners go all out for end of year party. Unlimited overtime is available to all... often required. Great place to gain entry level purchasing experience. Then move on!

    Cons

Very dated system for purchasing (AS400). Work processes are extremely manual. Be prepared to work your fingers to the bone! IT department is a joke. Basically just there to limp AS400 through the 21st century... Pay is significantly low! $10k-$15k below market average. In other words you're paying for your own benefits, employee discounts, and then some... I never worked less than 50 hours a week. 10+ hours a day plus occasionally Saturdays. Impossible amount of work when it gets busy (winter time). During busy season I never went home feeling accomplished. BEWARE - office drama is extreme at Tire Rack. Mainly women who live and breathe drama. Management is extremely passive and easily manipulated. There is no room for advancement. No flex-time or incentives for doing extra. Hard workers will be overloaded. Teamwork is not a thing. Unless there is drama behind it.

    Pros

Great to work for if you stay with the "in crowd". They will take care of you as long as you are willing to keep your ideas and thoughts to yourself. There are a lot of great individuals with the company, great people who you can learn a lot from.

    Cons

Can be long hours with little acknowledgment from managers. Managers will always be taken care of. Rarely does a manager work their way into a position without being a friend of the family coming in the door. Managers are easily threatened by hard workers. Keep your head and ambitions out of sight until you know who you are talking to. Many people within all departments keep their jobs only by throwing others under the bus, it is almost a rewarded idea by many managers. Current market success has definitely gone to some upper management (family members) heads.

    No point in working here.

    Pros

Decent paychecks but only after you give up on having a life outside of here. 6 Days a week and if your lucky you get off on time. Benefits are not too bad when compared to other places that are more expensive.

    Cons

To summarize this it is almost everything to do with management and the way problems are handled. Typically you can expect no one in the upper management or HR to help you with a grievance or complaint about another employee or even a personal issue. Unless you are one of many people making the complaint they will ignore you. The warehouse managers care little about if you can take care of family or yourself outside of work. If your a temp you are literally nothing to these people but a number and it takes little to nothing for them to fire you. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Many of us will be leaving once we find better.

    Pros

great enviroment and the mangers and willing to help you feel successfull and appreciated. Feels great to be around a team that whats to benefit the workers and team members.

    Cons

The lazy and ungreatfull employees who walk through the door and try to bring down people with there negativety and poor work ethic. Some people are just jealous of the of the management because they are not in the role that they are and will do whatever they can to knock them down. But a strong leadership will not let them knock him down and destroy what he has worked hard to get!!!!!!
