I worked at Topshop part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The employees are good people, you’ll learn a good amount about retail

    Cons

Company is still finding their way being in the US so policies kept changing, raises are often but only raise by cents. Management isn’t so strong.

    Advice to Management

If there is someone eager to learn and move forward give them a chance or they’ll find somewhere else to thrive.

I worked at Topshop part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    You will meet amazing coworkers
    Discount is 25%
    Business wear is 60%
If fashion is one of your passions this company definitely helps develop your style and encourages creativity
    Flexible scheduling
Develop better client relations and customer assistance
Develop outfits tailored to the customers style
    Fun workday themes and contests

    Cons

There are too many team leads who take advantage of a little power..
If you have an issue with management they will find an excuse to give you a disciplinary action
Most disciplinary actions are not viable and probable cause can only be time and attendance.. if you are faced with this issue DO NOT hesitate to file an appeal
Management uses write ups as punitive actions to refuse raises or promotions and eliminate the “troublemakers” aka outspoken stewards for code of conducts
High turnover rate mainly due to company feeling associates are expendable

    Advice to Management

Workshops should be taken on how to properly communicate with staff/employees/peers .
Rules should be across the broad with ALL associates even management.
Being passive aggressive does not make a better work environment.
Upper management needs to re-evaluate current management staff.
Be more compassionate with unforeseen circumstances that hinders staff attendance

    I worked at Topshop part-time

    Pros

Some good benefits such as a uniform discount. There are always chances to do overtime. The are ways to advance your career.

    Cons

The management can be awful, I had no manager for over a month when I worked there. They can be very inflexible. Pay could be higher.

I worked at Topshop full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Standard 25% discount
Quarterly 60% discounts on 4 items
Meeting some really cool and down to earth employees
    Paid time off

    Cons

    Management is a lazy
Too many cooks in the kitchen
    Ill spirited management
    No incentives
No room for growth especially for minorities
    No job security
    No communication or organization
    Perpetual counter productivity

    Advice to Management

Communication needs to be made a bigger priority. Majority of the management team strictly delegates pointless task and solely looks for problems to complain about. Employee development should be your focus, not tearing them down and teaching them to strive for less. The company probably wouldn't be a revolving door if you actually considered your employees as assets rather than collateral

I worked at Topshop part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Its regular retail. You need to help the client, run back clothes, be fashionable while at it. It can get super busy depending which location but it was never too crazy where you couldn't handle it. I worked there for a year and it was super good until one manager got too condescending for her own good and ruined it for everybody. Honestly not a bad place to work depending who's in charge.

    Cons

Whack discount, I ended up barely buying anything.
The management at my store went downhill and everybody wanted to quit, me included.
Had trouble getting a raise, newbies were getting $12.50 while I was getting $11 still.
Not that much room to grow unless you've got spotless record (no lateness, etc) , my store had a weird thing going on so barely anyone could grow.
You'd get stuck doing the same things.

    Advice to Management

If a bunch of employees don't like someone, get rid of the person not the employees.

I have been working at Topshop part-time

    Pros

PTO for part time is pretty rare in the US
    Everyone's super friendly
    Discounts are decent
the break room is pretty chill
    location is great!
Honestly there's more pros than cons

    Cons

    Last minute scheduling
constantly on your feet (buy comfortable shoes!)
    lack of A/C

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible with your associates and plan ahead.
Otherwise doing a pretty good job if you ask me.
