I worked at Topshop part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great managers and coworkers, good environment, paid and in-depth training, nice location.

    Cons

At my time of employment (the first year the store was open) there were too many workers and most everyone got very little hours. When people started leaving, management made it known that they were looking to hire more people instead of giving still-existing workers more shifts.

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees (in a private setting) to speak up about their satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) with their number of current hours.

I have been working at Topshop part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Chill environment and work and team work
    -SOME people can be nice
-4 60% discounts every 3 months, and regular 25% discount on topshop items

    Cons

-Promised maximum 30 hours a week, but now I’m at 15-20 hours because they hired so many new people out of nowhere
-Outdated system, constantly having to ask for ID from customers at the register when they use their card to pay even if they are using their debit or a small transaction, customers constantly get offended
-Constantly needing a manager for a price adjustment and returns at the register
-You can’t order online for customers or check if we have an item available in store through the register, we have to check all over the store and the stockroom
-I dislike how that you don’t have a employee number to clock in you constantly have to keep a time card, that I constantly forget at home, AGAIN very outdated.
-You can’t capture emails on register you have to have customers write it down on a piece of paper.
-Since you don’t learn much here and do the same thing over and over and you don’t have some sort of goal like a sales goal, you can’t grow here.
-There are cliques, like with any retail job, so if you are new, the people who've been there longer don't like to answer questions and are lazy
-House of CB is separate from Topshop and SOME of the customers that want that brand can be really rude and needy and it is annoying to have to constantly ask House of CB associates to help because sometimes they are not around. Also they are constantly out of their bags and boxes and customers get pissed if they don't get a box for their clothes, House of CB should explain that to customers!!! Since I was told when I was hired I'm not held accountable for their product. They should bag up their customers clothes and check them out, again because I'm not working for them, I was hired in Topshop.

    Advice to Management

-Ask me if it’s okay if my hours go down, don’t just randomly do it! Or have a team meeting about why this is happening!!! That’s why people leave without saying anything because you don’t address anything with employees unless they come up to you.
-Have concession brands handle their customers more and have them check out their customers

I have been working at Topshop part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great co-workers, great discount, great work-life balance

    Cons

Poor management, low hours, too many new hires, impossible to move up. They give the most hours to the new hires at first (to keep them thinking they'll be scheduled 20+ hours a week) then they completely cut hours to less than 12 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

-please schedule your employees with more than 12 hours a week
-stop hiring new employees every week
-please notify employees when PTO or time off requests are denied

I worked at Topshop part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The sales associate team is kind and hard working. People are flexible and willing to pick up a shift if you cannot work that day. The discount of 4 items is nice.

    Cons

Childish managers and extremely unprofessional. If you request time off they will "forget" to give it to you. They are very condescending.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and get it together. Learn how to handle your personal problems without taking it out on others.
