Pros

Working with bunnies! Flexible hours. Did I mention working with bunnies?

Cons

Paychecks bounce. Support to do the job is limited. I always get the feeling we're about to be closed down next week.

Hi there, We don't use paychecks. You are describing a situation that is impossible. We pay monthly on the 25th and vendors every Thursday. Fortunately until today, we've never received a complaint on the payment schedule. We are not sure how you could report a situation like this. In regards to your feelings about our finances, allow us to emphasise on the following: We are a bootstrapped company. We've never hidden it. On the contrary, we are proud of it. Our customers are our investors! That approach makes us persistent and tenacious on how we get things done. We like making our team members accountable for their financial decisions at the company. We like people and teams to be scrappy. To keep an open organization, we share numbers with all the team. We do it on a quarterly basis. While you could see it as a stressful situation, most people at the company appreciate looking at the financials. It gives all of us accountability on what we are doing to move forward. As for professional development, we firmly believe it's on the individual to proceed their career. We, as team leaders, open all possible doors to achieve those goals, whether that implies opening chapters to discuss topics of interest; opening our network for mentorship; always recommending readings or financing classes that will improve our team members' skills. While many companies don't have constant touch points with their team leaders, we encourage weekly 1-1 and ask on a daily basis what is stifling people. Likewise, every Wednesday we host town halls for open Q&A. It's confusing to read your comments when you had the possibility to use all of these spaces to communicate your perspective. Nevertheless, if you were in fact part of our team, we wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavours.

Pros

Article Bunny promises high rates, connects talent with freelance (no searching), and assigns content (no pitching). The website is easy to use and navigate.

Cons

The application process is rigorous and unpaid: 2,400 words plus. I spent two days researching and creating a magazine-quality article and followed all of their (stringent) instructions, only to have it sent back. They asked for a total revision. I can't be wasting two days, unpaid no less, while following all instructions and delivering a high-quality product (six days before deadline, I might add!) only to have it immediately rejected with no explanation.

Hi! We apologize if your experience with us was a negative one. I'd like to make it clear that the only project we will ask you to complete without payment is the application project. This application allows us to determine whether your submissions will meet our quality standards and those of our clients. Once your application is approved, you will be able to start receiving invitations to apply for paid jobs that are priced according to the rates you set in the system yourself. Keep in mind you will always be paid according to what you deemed fair. We hope that this explanation has made the process clearer regarding how we work. We value those professionals who decide to work with us and we will take your comments into account to see where we can improve our processes.

Pros

No pros really if company is not ethical

Cons

They will through the API via email without any documentation or explanation of use or examples. I had to figure the API endpoints myself by debugging their website remotely using local proxy (Burpsuite) to understand each endpoint functionality. They ask you with the API they provide you via email to come up with some idea or small demo project to prove for them your skills. Even if you got accepted or not they will literally steal your idea or features from your demo project to be added to their platform and this literally what happen to me personally.
