Pros

You get to work with some very nice people, something you can't say about everywhere in the city.

Cons

There are very few processes in place, essentially the company began as a small organisation and grew larger. This is exemplified in the lack of pay benchmarking and the dearth of formal career development planning, which has led to an unusually high level of staff turnover. Senior management are extremely short term in their view and are interested solely in increasing AUM.

Pros

Friday PM drinks trolley, some nice people. Good for 1 years experience and then move for a better company and pay increase.

Cons

Management team are very siloed with no clear strategy. Advisers are generally old and stuck in their ways. CEO has been there far to long and sureounds himself with people who wont challenge him. Poor culture, employing expensive investment managers from rivals has further compounded silos and the firm pulls in different directions. Salary is below average and bonus' are not market rate. HR are very reactive. Technology change project behind plan and costing a fortune so no ability to innovate in other functions of the firm.

Pros

Great loyal client following, good range of products and services. Good colleagues and benefits package.

Cons

High expectations for modest pay. Lack of career progression opportunities , which has caused a number of long standing and skilled staff to leave. Lack of support. Lack of clarity over bonus/pay.
