Had potential, but poor leadership killed any hope

Pros

Many smart and capable people were brought on to Turntide to do great things, and it’s fun working alongside them

Cons

The product simply doesn’t work. It doesn’t solve a problem in the market and there is no path to profitability. This leads to not hitting numbers quarter after quarter and failed attempts to “get back on track” with constant finger pointing between engineering, product, and sales. Best hope is that the company is acquired for parts at some point. Leadership is not capable of leading. Strategy changes week to week based on the latest book the ceo read (seriously) and what will best serve his ego (the worst kind of ego, where he says he craves direct/critical feedback but is fully incapable of hearing anything constructive).

Pros

Once it was a great company with original ideas, great innovation spirit, and held a lot of promises for the next breakthrough in Climate Tech.

Cons

Bankrupt business leadership. Waves after wave of layoffs due to incompetent CEO and General Managers, who are running the company to the ground. The buildings BU which is led by leader who has no idea of business, and in general practices toxic leadership with host of integrity issues, is the worst of all.

Pros

The only pro here is being able to work remote.

Cons

1) Toxic culture. Reality was leadership does complete opposite of its values. 2) You will never get work done because of certain individuals that like to have 1-hour meetings to lecture on useless things, 2-hour meetings for a planning workshop that never results in anything, and weekly meetings trying to satisfy some egotistic individual that believes they are making an impact for the company. The reality was instead forcing a limited resource of individuals from focusing on doing work. 3) Top heavy organization for a small company. Too many reporting layers, high paying individuals just brain-storming everyday changing directions, and not enough individuals to execute. 4) Lacking diversity in the executive positions.

Turntide Technologies Response

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate the contributions of the Tideturners who got our company to where it is today. We recently reorganized the company to focus on more effectively developing future solutions that will help achieve our mission, while also adjusting to the difficult global economic environment. That required making some jobs redundant. This type of change is always challenging for the people who are let go, as well as their teammates who remain. We maintain several channels for direct communication among leaders and all Tideturners. These channels are open, and we’re always looking to incorporate feedback on how we can act in alignment with our company values. I always welcome direct feedback, Ryan (CEO)
