I have been working at Understanding Behavior part-time

    Pros

They pay really well. You can pretty much set your own schedule.

    Cons

I don't recommend starting out for this company, as the training is not as involved. Hours depend on how many cases are in your area. Not likely to get full-time.

I worked at Understanding Behavior part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay here is competitive. Flexible schedule, alot of nice families. My case manager was very helpful and supportive even though she was in the San Fran office far away from me.

    Cons

Sometimes it is hard to get hours. The BCBA on my case usually had to do remote supervisions- NOT ideal and not as helpful as meeting in person. They pay you once a month rather than bi-weekly. Also, clients can be challenging. That is the nature of the job no matter which agency you work at.

I worked at Understanding Behavior full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Flexible schedule Pay is okay

    Cons

Agency based out of San Francisco, so when working in other cities, it's really difficult to get support. No benefits, even when working full-time as a BT.

We are a medium sized company in the In-Home Applied Behavior Field and we are working hard to provide quality ABA services to as many families as we can! I am disappointed to learn that you felt you were not supported in your role. Although we are based in California we work hard to support our providers in the field. We have a staff of 12 people in our home office who provide recruiting, case management, billing and administrative support to all of our contractors and employees. Please reach out to us at jobs@understandingbehavior.com and we would be happy to discuss your experiences personally in an effort to improve our operations in the future. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to hear from you!
