Pros

The product is interesting to work on, even if some parts did age a bit. What really stands out is the people, friendly, supportive colleagues who genuinely help each other out. It's easy to ask questions, learn from others, and grow. Cross-team collaboration is strong, and many people take real ownership of their work. The company positions itself as modern and AI-forward, though in practice the tech and sales approaches are more traditional. That's not necessarily bad, the seniors bring solid experience, especially with established enterprise clients, but it's worth knowing the reality doesn't always match the branding. There can be a gap between leadership messaging and day-to-day culture. Big statements about hustle and working around the clock come from the top, but most people maintain normal hours. The vibe is ultimately friendly and well-intentioned, even if the communication from leadership sometimes feels out of sync with how things actually work.

Cons

The direction could feel unclear at times, especially as a developer. It often seemed like leadership was figuring things out as they went, without a deep understanding of user needs, the technical landscape, or what competitors had already solved. Scope and priorities tended to shift every few months, which made it hard to build momentum or see projects through to real impact even though this is the age we live in, it felt to rushed. Recognition was limited and not praised enough (in the development team) Even after a year of solid work, raises were minimal, and it wasn't always clear what was valued or how to grow in the role. There's also messaging from leadership about continuous learning and working beyond normal hours, framed as dedication to the craft. While the intention may be good, it can come across as an unrealistic expectation, especially when combined with shifting priorities and unclear direction. None of this felt malicious, more like a company still finding its footing strategically. But for someone looking for stability and clear growth paths, it could be frustrating.

High expectations in an unstable and top-down environment

Pros

The colleagues. Despite a very challenging work environment, there is strong solidarity among employees. The company also offers good benefits, although they largely feel designed to attract new hires rather than to retain and value existing employees.

Cons

The work culture is marked by high employee turnover and a strongly top-down leadership style. Creativity and initiative are often encouraged in theory but rarely supported in practice, and shifting priorities frequently lead to important work being deprioritised or abandoned. Management micromanages heavily and shows limited trust in teams and individual contributors, with decisions often based on top leadership’s own opinions rather than open discussion. The environment is consistently reactive and shaped by informal power structures rather than clear processes, creating a culture that feels immature rather than collaborative and professional. Even employees with strong performance and steady salary progression are not protected from sudden changes in expectations or strategic direction, which fosters ongoing instability. Support for learning and development is minimal, and employees are largely expected to upskill on their own time while maintaining high output. A clear “us versus them” dynamic exists between leadership and the rest of the organisation, and communication is often unclear and non-transparent. High performance is constantly expected, but the culture provides little support for sustaining it. Even highly driven individuals struggle to stay motivated when trust, continuity, and psychological safety are lacking. If you want a place where you can grow, perform and feel motivated, unfortunately this place is not for you.

Pros

The product is genuinely fun to work on and has significant potential that is currently underutilized. Cross-team collaboration is unusually strong for a tech company, and many employees are highly capable, motivated, and take real ownership of their work. There are smart, driven people throughout the organization who consistently step up and deliver, often despite unstable priorities and constant changes.

Cons

Leadership is chaotic and reactive. Priorities change frequently and are often driven by impulse rather than strategy. Teams are repeatedly asked to drop ongoing work to chase the next “big idea,” only for these initiatives to be abandoned without follow-through. This leads to wasted effort, frustration, and burnout. Micromanagement is excessive, with little trust in teams or managers to execute independently. Instead of enabling progress, leadership becomes a bottleneck that slows decision-making and execution across the company. The company heavily promotes a “no primadonnas allowed” culture, yet leadership behavior frequently contradicts this message. Communication from the top can be aggressive, emotionally driven, and unprofessional, which undermines trust and psychological safety throughout the organization. There is also an expectation that employees should continuously keep up with new trends and skills in their personal time, regardless of workload or personal responsibilities. This is framed as ambition, but in practice it leads to exhaustion rather than sustainable performance. The most frustrating part is the gap between the values being promoted and the reality of how the company operates day to day. With consistent leadership and behavior that actually reflects its stated culture, this company could perform far better than it does today. When a company loudly promotes “no primadonnas allowed,” leadership behavior should not be the clearest exception.
