Pros

Working here is a chance to learn a lot of skills that you did not really want to learn, such as being your own sysadmin and doing engineering jobs that someone else knew how to do, but they were laid off. There is no office, so if you like working from home this is ideal.

Cons

Extremely under-resourced, almost no HR or IT support, incompetent managers. Communication is difficult when staff is spread over many time-zones and speaks many different languages. Strategy and supporting tactics seem to be completely undefined.

Versata - WTF?

Pros

Young company, fun group of people. Interesting roadmap.

Cons

Not a pay for performance place. Old boys club. Product has evolved but still very esoteric. What does Versata do? Compensation wasn't very good. Lots of worthless stock options were granted during the .bomb. Employee morale in the toilet. Recognition only provided to top brass. Employee feedback non-existent. Work/life balance was out of whack. Respect for the little people/worker bees was little to none. Fairness wasn't always observed. Benefits got worse over time due to poor health care planning.

Pros

Flexibility is key, they care about one thing only, do your job well and hit your metrics. If you meet the requirements you won't find a better place to work. Great people, no politics just a ton of nice folks working hard to do a great job.

Cons

Virtual life can be lonely. Not everything is perfect but on the whole it is probably the best place I have ever worked.
