    Pros

Strong desire to drive growth, Company invests heavily in new product development, and training for all employees, all they have to do is act

I worked at Victaulic part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The employees are very nice.
Depending on your manager, you'd have a lot of project choices.
Some of the managers are friendly.

    Cons

Doesn't pay that much. I believe they make a lot of money but wouldn't pay enough to their workers. They are always focused on manufacturing pipe couplings which means you'd be doing one thing the whole time.

    Advice to Management

They should pay their workers well. There should be diversity in the products they make.

I have been working at Victaulic full-time

    Pros

Good work-life balance. Lots of good people. Good 401K.

    Cons

No work from home policy for most employees even in severe weather conditions. No clear direction in new product development. It's a race to "just get something out this year" and then triple the time is spent cleaning it up later. Actual results and recognition do not align. There are obvious favorites and obvious scapegoats.

    Advice to Management

Start holding people accountable. Experience and results should be regarded higher than "polish"

I have been working at Victaulic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Quality product, good reputation, not quick to let people go

    Cons

upper management lacks sophistication, lack of clearly defined career paths, extreme lack of visibility into sales numbers, slap on the back good old boy culture among VPs, consistently changing focus, little flexibility for sales people to make decisions in their own territory

    Advice to Management

Changes are needed at the top. The CEO is a very intelligent man but he remains loyal to his VPs because the company continues to make money. More sophisticated VPs could yield even bigger profits. This company desperately needs an outside consultant to evaluate senior management and the corporate structure

I have been working at Victaulic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Best in class products, Innovation, & excellent resources.
    Training and Selling Skills exceptional
Manufacturing and channels of commerce are excellent

    Cons

Salaries are below average, work hours and expectations ridiculous. Constant beat down from Managers and VPs while they live by different rules and obviously incentives.
Incentive Program is brutal, Bonus Pay is 2/10th of 1% on 1st 80% of sales. In other words, that number is practically zero $. Trimester bonuses are less than someone can make over a weekend at a second job which many sales have 2nd jobs to help supplement their income. Turnover is rampant and most sales are waiting and looking for better offers and other careers. This is not a culture that warrants a long term career.

    Advice to Management

Put yourself in sales shoes to truly understand frustrations, revisit the incentive program or there will continue to be constant turn over for better opportunities without the belittling from Top Down.

    Pros

Great training and exposure to field sales. You get to touch and be apart of many key business operations.

    Cons

Long work hours, management expects you to call on customers during the day and process administrative work on the weekend and nights. Salary is good but not for what you work.

    Advice to Management

Develop a better work life balance culture.

I worked at Victaulic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed working with my direct co-workers and manager and liked coming to work each day because of them. Victaulic offers a good 401K program and good health insurance.

    Cons

It seems to me like the company is behind about 10 years. If having the flexibility to work from home is important to you, I wouldn't suggest Victaulic. I would also say that if you're looking for true upward mobility, the only place you could really achieve that would be the corporate facility, in Easton PA.

    Advice to Management

I would encourage upper management to listen to what people are trying to tell you. There are a lot of issues and they aren't going to get better if you keep listening to the same people you've been listening to. Try something new... listen to the people who work in your facilities. The people who are on the floor and notice a lot more than you might think. You might get somewhere that way. Also, I would encourage you to learn how to better appreciate your employees.
