Struggle to progress

Pros

- Proper compensation of allowance (petty cash, overtime monies). - Flexibility in carrying out your daily routines (also a con). - Colleagues are open to interaction and communication.

Cons

- Overtime is a norm, practically almost on a daily basis. No proper gatekeeper on this so an employee actually worked overtime for weeks during my term with them. - 95% of the HODs lack the actual knowledge to elevate their own departments and practically have no prior experience in leading teams. You can actually overtake the HODs within 2 years of hard work and learning from external parties. - The organization values loyalty over talent; hence the quality is stagnant. Most of the HODs have been with the company for over a decade and it's their first job in their entire career. One even assumed the position because he volunteered for it. - You cannot learn beyond what the HODs have attained in terms of skills/knowledge because they are the ceiling. - The most popular question and running joke between the employees during the yearly review is 'Who watches the watchmen?' because of the lack of progress in each department.

Pros

OT transport and meal welfare. Specific department I was in was pretty good in terms of communication and heads were the most competent out of the rest of the company.

Cons

Integrity of some of the senior staff questionable at best. Having to cover for the incompetence of some staff that are supposed to be veterans in the industry. Horrible insight and project management, no solid company vision and departments that are supposed to work together feel segregated and self centered.

Pros

- Friendly and nice colleagues, everyone's "in it" together - Occasionally fun yearly company dinner (no company trips at all)

Cons

- Tight deadlines (rushing all the time, sometimes only a few hours) - Creative directors aren't trained in design industry and have no experience in working in other companies - Tend to take in clients' requests without questioning - Managed to work straight for 24 hours when bosses all went home - Office is super dark and creepy - HR managed to get my birthday wrong on contract until I pointed out - Low pay, binding foreigners on contracts when it's clearly not right and taking advantage of them for not knowing the law in Singapore - Project managers' gap in capabilities are very wide, some are very meticulous and a pleasure to work with, some are not that attentive and you might even need to take notes for them during meetings even though they have been working there for 15+ years - Any good reviews here might be written by themselves as turnover rate is steep
