Pros

Really solid team, both on the product side and on go-to-market. Smart, hard-working, and dedicated to a shared mission and vision The product is competing in a rapidly expanding space and has unique positioning within the market with strong differentiators Leadership is deeply connected with what's happening at the company and provides clear direction to the team

Cons

As a series A startup, a lot of processes are still being built out. For people who are looking to just clock in, follow somebody else's process, clock out, this might be unappealing

Pros

- Autonomy: Small team with more projects than people by a good amount. Everyone is the owner of a project and everyone has a lot of freedom in implementation and design. - Mostly Senior Staff: Easy to get input and trust that projects that you're not involved in are going to turn out great. - Product Influence: I'm used to just implementing what PM/UX determine to be the best route, with maybe some minor last minute adjustments that don't significantly change the idea. It's refreshing to be able to actually be involved in the product design from the start here and it's pretty easy to do since we're targeting a technical user base. - Customer Interaction: Getting to talk to people that have real problems face to face (zoom to zoom..) is really fun. I'm used to all of my work being locked behind a firewall. Actually existing in the real world on Github, using tools that the rest of the world uses feels a lot better.

Cons

Mostly related to company size. At large companies (Amazon in my case) it's easy to find random talented people and meet them for a 1:1 to get advice. You're more limited at a startup to the few people that work there. You have to work harder to make those random connections. Mentoring junior SDEs at a large company is also fun (to me at least). Everyone here is fairly senior so there isn't much room for that at the moment, but as we grow I'm sure the need will arise.
