I worked at Windsor part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I guess schedule flexibility since so many call ins and no repercussion.

    Cons

Started here as an LVN to pick up hours on top of my regular full time job... asked for higher pay and was told by DON it goes by scale and she couldn’t offer me any higher, after hesitating I still took the job. Before even completing my orientation I get a call saying I was supposed to be working that night and I wasn’t available.. got sent a picture of the schedule and I was put on full time before even discussing my availability. Very unorganized and out of EVERYTHING. Was never able to get ahold of anyone (DSD, DON, etc..) then come to find out they hired a friend of mine (graduated nursing school together, same exact experience) and higher than what I was offered and offered a sign on bonus! Pretty sure it had A LOT to do with race. Will never go back. Very unorganized, horrible management, everyone is rude(office staff) Most nurses are new grads that don’t know what they’re doing!

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees, give them a reason to want to stay!

I have been working at Windsor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a paying RT job, so if you're just starting out I guess it's better than nothing, but only marginally.

    Cons

Dirty, plenty of lazy people working there in every department, zero chance for growth, you will not be using very many of your skills there. Very low pay ($21/hr), poor management throughout, plenty of nepotism and favoritism at this site.

I worked at Windsor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very energetic LVN Staff, faculty that backs you, and staff RN's that support you.

    Cons

Unorganized, disrespectful CNA's, Management was horrible when I was there but those that made it that way, is no longer there.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you are talking to and supporting your staff. It needs to be an open dialect amongst everyone. Not everyone is willing to hear it if favorites are placed.

I have been working at Windsor part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, Great DSD, Good Co-workers, good pay

    Cons

Workers do not matter families get to be rude and disrespectful to staff, patients without dementia or any mental illness can make racial slurs and threaten staff with no repercussions. Heavy work many times understaffed and then many times there is very little hours. will burn you out quickly.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting family members and patients treat staff the way they do. stop understaffing.
