Company in Complete Shambles

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Good employee discount and fairly good insurance benefits. Also, if you're looking for a job that you can arrive 10-15 mins late CONSTANTLY without any consequences, this is the job for you.

Cons

Company in complete shambles. Here's a quiet a few important key notes I believe any candidate should consider before applying to this company. PLEASE READ FULLY, I TRULY BELIEVE THIS IS SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD READ. - Upper management does not care whatsoever about anything else other than making money. They don't care about their opticians, their doctors, their managers. - There is no organization whatsoever. Company cannot keep any new hires because they realize within a few weeks how poorly managed it is. - Compensation is nowhere near enough for the yelling and headaches the patients give to the opticians and managers in the store. - Company prioritizes making $5 off patients instead of making sure they backup their store managers. - Upper management is so distanced from what it is to work in a store, they have unrealistic goals for store managers and opticians. - Work schedule is never on time because upper management does not give schedule to managers until a week before it is handed to all employees. Even though they ask for the store managers to turn in schedules a month before they even work on it. So can't ever plan appointments unless you request the day off with multiple weeks in advance. - Company morale is on the floor because of how under staffed they are. They focus much more on new hires that they can pay low wages, instead of giving well deserved raises to employees on a consistent basis (yearly, six months). - Employees that have worked at the company for years are not valued at all unless they are completely needed by upper management. - There are positions created for family members of owners of company which are completely unnecessary. They would rather give those family members a great salary than give the company employees a raise which makes absolutely no sense to me. - Favoritism from upper management is completely obvious. Regional managers and above, hire their family members and never give them any problems if they are on their cell phones or not doing any work but if there is a employee who they do not like, they will go above and beyond to find a way to push them out of the company.

Horrible Company - do not work here

Pros

flexibile with scheduling for associates

Cons

Corporate employees have a god like complex, think they deserve to be treated with utmost respect yet in return they treat store employees like crap and speak to them however they please with no repercussions. Regional managers give preferential treatment to their favorite stores or employees. There is RAMPANT nepotism throughout entire company. Children of the owners of the company get high level corporate positions and manager positions with no previous experience or knowledge in the field. Spouses of owners children get hired as well, even after multiple failed interviews. Also, in relation to covid at least one store has had a patient who tested positive (and potentially the manager of that store as well but no confirmation on that yet) yet they did not close the store or inform any employees of the risk they are putting their own employees in. Corporate has not released any information to employees and has kept it a secret. They do not want any employees talking about it amongst each other either. Total lack of transparency and neglect to disclose any information regarding their own employees health to us. Instead of shutting down the store that had a positive tested patient, they let the doctor continue exams TWO DAYS before that doctor moved to another state. There is no accountability for this company and how they are playing with their employees’ well-being, but also the patients who come in for services and spend money there are being put in jeopardy as well. Shameful.

First, we are sorry that as an employee of our organization that you have such concerns but have not relayed such to management. When we first had to furlough all of the employees of our company, the generosity of the owners shined through. They made sure that employees nor their families suffered financially for the entire furlough period covering wages and all benefits (including health insurance and 401k) between March 19 and April 19 from their own pockets. While employees were on furlough the owners and a small group of executives were at work every day (including weekends) to make sure that all proper Personal Protective Equipment and disinfecting supplies were secured and that protocols for a safe return to work environment were in place. As a former employee you were familiar with all of the safety protocols that we had and have asked staff and patients to follow including wearing masks, washing/disinfecting hands often, temperature taking, breath shields, social distancing, limiting the number of people in locations and disinfecting all surfaces and equipment often. Once employees were removed from furlough, they were allowed to work only up to 20 hours per week, but were paid their full average wages earned before the furlough occurred – the owners covered the balance in order to give all staff an opportunity to get used to the new protocols. This was in place between April 19 and May 18. Protocols have continued to be reviewed on a regular basis so that they remain relevant during the fluid situation. As it pertains to transparency, the Company has a specific legal obligation to protect those employees that may have been exposed to COVID19. HIPAA is very specific when it comes to disclosing the personal health conditions of our staff and we take that very seriously. When there is a situation we are diligent about addressing it according to the protocols that we have set forth and our legal obligations. In terms of an issue of nepotism is concerned, there is no secret that there are children of the owners working within the Company. This is to be expected as they are the next generation to assume control down the line and is only logical for the family to have them involved. A number of these children worked tirelessly during the furlough period to make sure that patient concerns and needs were addressed and that every staff person felt safe returning to work. Based on the above, the care, health and safety of the employees of this Company are paramount. Finally, as a part-time former employee that has worked with our Company for less than a year, your motivation for your staff judgement is suspect at best. We are proud to have Doctors, Managers, Opticians, Lab staff, and Corporate staff with decades of dedication to the Company – a couple with over 35
