Pros

People outside of senior management are awesome human beings.

Cons

Marketing leadership during my tenure there was an absolute loose cannon, vascilating wildly between completely clueless and out of touch to micromanagement bordering on paranoia. Marketing leadership is typically the bottleneck for strategy development and to get approvals, then blames marketing ops manager if things don't go as planned. Expects marketing operations manager to adequately direct timing of other teammates workloads, but those team mates don't report to the marketing operations manager, so essentially everyone is set up for failure. Constantly changing priorities, saying one thing and doing another, then exploding at people with disrespect. I waited a while to write this, but one of the two team mates hired during my tenure there also quit and I believe the person who took over my position also quit less than a year in because marketing leadership is a nightmare.

Pros

The people are wonderful--very smart, funny, and good to be around. We have lots of fun in the office, and management really encourages this! The relaxed attitude is very appreciated, and helps create an atmosphere of teamwork. Some flexibility in scheduling and telecommuting is also great. The office is very informal and laid back--very Austin. If you like to work hard and play hard, it`s a good fit!

Cons

No dedicated HR staff (odd for a company that provides HR services), so performance management and skill growth feel like they are at the bottom of the priority list. Vacation benefits for employees in their first few years are not great--expect to have to use your PTO for Christmas Eve. Unneccesarily stressful environment where everything feels like an emergency. People are often working nights and weekends.

Pros

Nice people in the office and good to learn about e-learning. Flex hours to accommodate a long commute. Good pay.

Cons

Upper management micro-managed to the point of over-kill. No training; inadequate systems yet you were expected to figure out yourself. Sales Management was the worst I've seen in my career. Conducting sales calls with the remote employees out in the open where everyone could hear, talking loudly -- just completely clueless. Revolving door with employees. All of a sudden they would pick someone and "freeze" them out. You knew someone would be leaving soon. Honestly the most bizarre office setting I've ever witnessed.
