Toxic environment with poor onboarding and support
Pros
Initially everything will appear so good...Later on one will realise that they are trapped in a toxic place
Cons
I have attended many interviews throughout my career, and most professional organizations follow a structured hiring process that includes written assessments, demo classes, and final interviews before recruitment. However, my experience here was very different. Even after joining, additional demo sessions and written assessments were conducted suddenly without prior communication or clarity. The organization frequently hires teachers from other boards with promises of IB training and support, but in reality there appears to be very little structured guidance or mentoring provided. Employees are often expected to adapt immediately and independently with minimal practical training, which creates unnecessary pressure and confusion. The leadership culture felt highly toxic and unsupportive. Management appeared extremely judgmental if expectations were not met immediately, and employees often felt excluded or sidelined afterward. There was also a serious lack of transparency regarding job security and communication. Despite expecting long notice periods from employees, the organization reportedly had no hesitation in terminating staff abruptly without proper notice or support. For individuals with family responsibilities and financial commitments, the lack of stability, proper onboarding, and professional HR practices can become extremely stressful. The institution seriously needs to improve its recruitment process, teacher training, leadership culture, employee communication, and overall workplace professionalism.
