Pros

Coworkers, UK Office, Work in different regions

Cons

This company always talks about it's culture being it's best part. It can be, if you are friends with management. If you aren't part of the group, you are just another employee. Management is incompetent and barely knows what they are doing on a daily basis. There is no support on development and your raises are dependent if you are on your manager's good graces or not. When you try and move up in the company, they will have you doing management's job with no pay. They make promises that you will be able to move up into the position you have worked. This is a flat out lie. They will not promote you and you do your boss's job without any recognition or a simple thank you. Office and management in UK works the way it should in the US but US management wants their own "office culture". Management and executives in UK are not the problem. It is the US Office.

Pros

As the company loves to claim - the culture. Which is true. Us, as employees, make this a fun place to work because we have to. - Individual Healthcare premium paid for - Sometimes flexible schedule, but they make you feel like they're doing you a huge favor - Fairly good resume builder. You work with lots of large companies that look great to employers and actually offer a competitive salary.

Cons

Where to start....You are told you are trusted and valued, yet the benefits that apply to management don't apply to you as an employee. Work from home? Only with an extremely good reason (so you can continue to contribute to company "culture"). Yet, management can decide day of that they need to work from home and they do so and often for trivial reasons you would be denied for. Only way to get raises is through a long and tedious program in which you have to prove your worth to management. The raises they consider huge, but if you really are working and learning, it's very small, slow to get, and trivial. No quarterly reviews. It takes all responsibility off of management and puts it onto your own shoulders so when things don't work out, it is your own fault. Also means any sort of extra work on your end - education, special training, certificates - that adds VALUE to you (which in turn adds value for them as they can sell you for a wider variety of projects) do not mean anything. Unless, you have these credentials on point of hire. Get them while working there? Means nothing. Easier to find a similar job elsewhere that pays much better once you have some experience then to appeal for a raise to remain here. Good pay for someone with no work background or little experience. Terrible pay for someone with a solid work background, experience, and education. Sadly, they do not budge with that.

bChannels Response
9y
bChannels achieved a record year in 2016 and has a great outlook for 2017 due to re-focusing on our core skills in the partner network, our people, and our clients. We are sad that you feel this way, but we recognize this positive change isn't for everyone. We continue to have positive and improving employee survey results and will continue to work on those areas where we need to improve.
