I worked at eSecLending full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a unique product offering, so understanding the business is pretty cool.
Many groups within the company are great with great management and supportive colleagues. If you start junior, you can work your way up and through the company, which is nice.

    Cons

It's a unique product offering, so the sales cycle is long and difficult. A few groups have toxic management and in-fighting since new management came on the scene.

    Advice to Management

Feel free to ask negative nelly's to leave the company. Company culture could be so good if certain people didn't feel like they owned everything and were better than others.

    Pros

Coworkers were interesting and very likeable, there is a good atmosphere amongst the low-mid level employees. Open work floor environment also led to easy interactions with other employees.

    Cons

Compensation is low, a few members from each group are required to show up to the office everyday, which includes holidays and other days in which the entire rest of the city is closed (such as snow days).

    Advice to Management

Better compensate the entry and mid level employees in order to have a more engaged team. Open up more opportunities for advancement, and try to remove the "cliquey" feel of some of the teams.

Worked in IT and everybody was cooperative, willing to answer questions and dedicated to the project I was on.

    Pros

Small company so you end up getting more exposure to different areas of the sec lending business. Good place to start off and get experience.

    Cons

Low pay, no bonus. I've seen a lot of good employees walk out the door. Huge division between executives and the rest of the company.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent and recognize the good workers you have before they're gone.

    I worked at eSecLending full-time

    Pros

A very exciting place to work when the company first came out of the gates with a new and high value add approach that was unique in the industry. Good compensation, benefits average at best. Good work-life balance for some positions with work from home arrangements.

    Cons

As company grew over the years, culture and mission became muddled. Lots of infighting among management and constant rumors among the rank and file. Performance reviews seem to only become important if they are looking to get rid of you.

    Advice to Management

Stick with what you do best and do it better than anyone else. Be honest with yourselves about the company's strengths and weaknesses. and leverage the strengths that truly differentiate eSecLending
