    Pros

Rated repeated over the last few years as a great place to work. It has been an island of success in an otherwise dreary economy.

    Cons

Immix was so successful it was purchased by a Fortune 500 company.

    Pros

Good training for first job. Lots of time invested in college graduates to teach them the government and distribution business.

    Cons

Flat management structure, few people making decisions. Old boys network, no woman in executive positions. Changes don't happen very fast.

    Advice to Management

Listen to suggestions. Promote qualified women.

I have been working at immixGroup full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -initial training is great
    -value work/life balance
-great way to start a career

    Cons

There is definitely mixed feelings about Arrow acquisition. Employees actually expressed disapproval during New Hire training, indicating it's not the same Top 20 Employer.

    Advice to Management

Please help your managers to be more developmental rather than too operational. My experience was that my direct report, who was responsible for training me, seemed too busy with meetings and work to do an adequate job, leading to the position not being filled for a year.

I have been working at immixGroup full-time

    Pros

Career advancement, huge learning opportunity. Outstanding training department. Company really does make efforts to listen and engage with employees. Company is growing leaps and bounds.

    Cons

Very young management team and though internal promotion is great, there is an echo chamber as a result. Relationships sometimes trump performance at the leadership level.

    Advice to Management

simplify job descriptions and definitions of success. Public sector requires a focused sales team, and focused ops team, more objective measures and less story-telling.

I have been working at immixGroup full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Great people to work with
    -Parking provided
    -Networking opportunity
    -Free tea, coffee, and soda
-Provides a solid foundation for a career in the federal IT industry

    Cons

-High turnover, especially on the sales floor
-Culture and environment has turned sour after being acquired
    -Limited employee recognition
-Lower end of the pay scale
-Benefits are not as great as a lot of the competition
-Company has become a cold, number-centric machine. Example: The HR department has been let go and has been replaced by a cloud sourced ticketing system. Speaking to HR now consists of submitting a help desk ticket or navigating through a 15 minute maze of automated phone prompts before being placed on hold for the next available representative.
-Low morale and high turnover resulting from the above points

I'm writing this observation here, but it could be viewed as a Pro. It's all a matter of perspective.

Since the acquisition, numbers are everything. To no surprise, innovation and creativity gave way to rigid processes and strict rules; business has been impressively streamlined. Budget for entertainment and employee recognition/reward have all but disappeared, and the sounds of laughter and conversation have been replaced by the click clack of keyboards or business calls. On one hand, company growth represented by GP has reached unprecedented heights, on the other, morale is at an all time low and the turnover rate is soaring. Business practices have become easier, but the company does not allow it's employees (upper management excluded) to grow with it. The end result is a feeling of disconnect between the everyday workers and the company goals.

    Advice to Management

Instead of bringing in a guest speaker to address the low morale, celebrate the company growth with your employees. You are laying off employees and increasing the workload of the remaining staff while preaching how the company is exceeding growth metrics. You can imagine what kind of message this relays.

I worked at immixGroup full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good opportunity to learn the business inside out. I had an opportunity to learn from great sales leaders. I also had an opportunity to build my very own business unit. Upper management believed in me and gave me support. Great company and awesome leadership

    Cons

Benefits was an issue, one of the reason I had to leave. Can be political at times.
Need to be consistent how we treat employees.
Train manager how to deal with issues right. That can creat issues in the future.

    Advice to Management

Do not ignore employees who are putting the extra work or have potential. That's where loyalty is gained.
