I have been working at inCode Telecom Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Few, less intense environment than most consulting firms.

    Cons

Incode suffers from many of the problems that other third-tier consulting do. Much of the business must be aggressively sold as there is no inbound demand from the C-suite for critical projects.

    Advice to Management

Work on developing star talent so Incode can compete with MBB firms.

    Pros

I learned a lot during my time there good people, willing to help and share knowledge good projects, company always tried to stay on top of innovation in industry

    Cons

promotions were very hard if you didn't fit a certain mold MDs cherry pick staff for projects Not all projects were considered equally important to the company, and if you were not on the right project you would be penalized

    Advice to Management

Learn from recent past, still some great people there that can make this company great. Look into leaving Ericsson

I have been working at inCode Telecom Group full-time

    Pros

    * The MD level people are great and helpful. * Promotions used to happen twice a year, but now are not happening due to Ericsson's collapse

    Cons

Constant downsizing * Minimum 45 hours a week, with 60+ not unusual * Inability for them to land long term projects / work * They don't value experience and have moved towards reliance on new MBA grads to staff projects as technology/strategy "experts" without the clients knowing they are really just taking other research reports or things googled off the internet and repackaging.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at inCode Telecom Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-The people are very smart, and generally available to share advice and knowledge about consulting, industry, and career development -Opportunities to stand out and contribute to BD and internal work even at junior levels

    Cons

-Project not always strategy" as a result of firm size. Supposedly this is changing. -Compensation not at par with strategy consulting firms, seemingly across all levels (Ericsson benefits are great, though)

    Advice to Management

Improve on areas that have led to attrition, focus on strategy vs. delivery/execution

    Pros

    - Consistently profitable company doing cool work in the industry - Tight-knit culture with unpretentious staff that operates inside an innovative multi-national Company. - Some of the smartest people around, both from a business and technology perspective. - More diverse client base in years past - Mobile Operators, Cable Companies, Private Equity firms and an increasing number of new clients. - Good... benefits including no out-of-pocket health insurance, SPP

    Cons

    - 2015 was a tough year; 2016 looks much more promising but still work to do. - Need more scale to push firm to the next level given recent attrition. - Oftentimes new hires matriculating into a role have better earning potential than existing employees who have been around for a few years and climbed the ladder. Must resolve. - Access to Ericsson SME's is a massive advantage but it cannot disrupt the work... the firm needs to perform. Ways of working must be fixed. - Need more training. Some good programs in place but needs to be more rigorous

  9. "Great consultants, good learning opportunity, poor company outlook, low compensation"

    Pros

Good people - talented, mostly thoughtful, encouraging, hard working, and fun to work with. Flexibility - working from home, alt travel, some managers understand that not everyone works best from 8am-8pm and give you the flexibility to work your own hours so long as you complete deliverables.

    Cons

Weak Sales - No "Rain Makers", many top Directors, Principals, and Managers left the company in the past year. Low / Unbalanced Compensation - compensation at the Analyst (college hire) and Sr. Consultant (MBA hire) level is fair, however, as you move up (in both cases) the compensation tapers quickly. Additionally, salary bands seem to overlap more than logical i.e. there are analysts making more than... associates and people with 5+ years experience making less than MBA grads with no consulting experience. Total compensation is easily 20% less than comparable boutique firms and compensation pails in comparison to large firms (Deloitte, Accenture, Cap, MBB, etc.). E.g. an inCode Principal makes less than an MBB Associate, and an inCode Manager less than a Deloitte / Accenture Consultant. No annual raises. Raises come only with a promotion. There is no set $ or % raise. Ericsson Ownership - This is a complicated dilemma 1) creates a sales barrier with many potential clients. Though there is no true conflict of interest, potential buyers have a hard time believing it. 2) Ericsson buyers treat inCode like staff augmentation and not true consultants 3) Bonus structure - Bonuses are primarily tied to Ericsson performance, not personal performance, read: no reward for going above and beyond 4) No profit sharing - Ericsson sweeps the profits off the top and there is no distribution to employees. Poor exit opportunities - though inCode likes to rest on its laurels and point to a number of successful exits to clients (and there are some very impressive ones at that!), currently few are provided with offers by existing clients. Most of the attrition is to other boutique consulting firms or non-client tech firms.

    Advice to Management

Hire stronger sales people, compensate your employees, promote those who add value and not just those with long tenure.

    Pros

There are good people at this company, but they all get shut out by upper management. Upper management is influenced by a bad CEO that allows employees that treat others like crap to be glorified, promoted, and cheered. I wouldn't even consider this place a stepping stone, you're better off not wasting your time here and looking for other opportunities that pay better and treat their employees with respect and... dignity.

    Cons

Horrible CEO and upper management- Lazy CEO and upper management has milked the company for air miles, expense accounts and give nothing in return to the company. They're insecure of people who come to the company and are high performers. Afraid of losing their own jobs, they typically shut the higher performers and good people out. This company runs on lies and they refuse to be honest with their own employees.

    Advice to Management

You're the poison in this company and the CEO is the main reason why OVER 50% of employees have left the company in a span of 4 months.
