  • ACI opens new Denver area office.
On July 15, ACIers in the Denver metropolitan area moved into ACI’s newest permanent site space in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The local team of about 20 ACIers quickly became acclimated to their new desks, printers, and phones, and they were treated to breakfast and lunch to welcome them to their new workspace.

  • ACIers in Watford, U.K., recently hosted 30 schoolgirls aged 9-13 for the site’s third Coding for Girls one-day coding camp. The camp built on the success of the first two editions and was booked within days of registration opening, which is a great source of pride for the local coordinating team.

During the most recent camp, Amelia Ruiz Heras, Principal Solution Consultant, and Rasika Limje, Senior Technical Consultant, led campers through engaging presentations, tutorials and basic coding exercises. The campers asked challenging questions of several ACI volunteers in attendance and picked up coding concepts quickly while working out solutions for themselves.

Batam Island is the nearest Habitat build location to Singapore and is a just short ferry ride from the city.

When the team arrived at the build site, they learned they had an important mission to accomplish—they needed to complete the house's foundation. To achieve this, they had to work on two primary tasks: preparing the metal rods for the foundation and mixing cement with sand. They were all determined to finish their mission and not even the hot and rainy weather could dampen their spirits.
