Let us introduce you to one of Avant’s oldest traditions: Demo Day. Every other Thursday afternoon, Demo Day kicks off with Avantees in our Chicago/remote office gathering on video and in person. We start with a round of introductions from new Avantees, which includes the same set of *creative* get-to-know-you questions we’ve been using for years. Next, one or two teams take the mic and give a short presentation on some of the cool things they’ve been working on. Whether it’s a fresh approach to organizing and sharing data, a new vendor whose software is about to make our lives easier, or a look behind the curtain on a process we all use every day, Demo Day shows off the ways Avantees solve problems and apply their skills. It also lets us re-introduce ourselves to each other as the company keeps growing. Oh—and our co-founder Paul closes out the day with a weather report for the weekend ahead. Why? It’s just Demo Day tradition.
