Cleveland-Cliffs was named to the Fortune 500 list, once again among the top 200 companies. Cleveland-Cliffs’ 2022 revenue of $23 billion earned Cleveland-Cliffs the ranking of 170 on the list for 2023. The Fortune 500 list ranks companies that are incorporated and operate in the U.S. by total revenues for their respective fiscal years. In partnership with Fortune Brand Studio, Lourenco Goncalves, Chairman, President and CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs, sat down with Fortune CEO Alan Murray to talk about the Company's achievement, along with how Cleveland-Cliffs is prioritizing sustainability, protecting jobs, and innovating to meet the evolving needs of its main market, the automotive industry.
The American Iron and Steel Institute’s (AISI) Board of Directors has elected Lourenco Goncalves, chairman, president and CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs, Inc., to serve as chairman of the Institute for a two-year term. The election and announcement took place at AISI’s General Meeting at the InterContinental Hotel-The Wharf in Washington, D.C. AISI also announced that Luca Zanotti, president of Tenaris USA, was elected as a new director on the AISI board; and Leon Topalian, chair, president and CEO of Nucor and former AISI chairman, was elected vice-chairman.

The Company is pleased to share its continued progress on environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance for 2022 in the Sustainability Report 2022, including its 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goal.
Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. was named a 2022 GM Supplier of the Year by General Motors at its 31th annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony in San Antonio, Texas. This is the sixth consecutive year Cleveland-Cliffs has received the award. The Supplier of the Year award recognizes distinguished global suppliers that exceed GM’s requirements, in turn providing GM customers with innovative technologies and among the highest quality in the automotive industry.
Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland-Cliffs Expand Partnership, Announce Cliffs Jersey Patch on Cavs Jersey The NBA Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. announced an expansion of their existing multi-year marketing agreement to put the Cliffs logo on the Cavs player uniforms beginning with the 2022-23 season. Since 1847, Cliffs has been headquartered in Cleveland and operating in the Great Lakes region. The Company’s headquarters are located downtown, less than a half mile from the home of the Cavaliers, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. They have a long-standing relationship with the team and have entitlement branding to one of the marquee north entry points into the glass atrium of the newly transformed and completely modernized FieldHouse. Cliffs is also the only steel company to have a jersey patch partnership within the NBA.
Cleveland-Cliffs Rings NYSE Closing Bell to Celebrate 175th Anniversary Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. rang The Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Lourenco Goncalves, Cleveland-Cliffs' Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, members of the company’s board of directors and executive management team will participate in the event to celebrate the company’s 175th year anniversary. Lourenco Goncalves said, “For nearly two centuries, Cleveland-Cliffs has been instrumental in building modern society in the United States through the domestic steel industry. Companies with this type of longevity are incredibly rare. Cleveland-Cliffs Ranked 171 on Fortune 500 list for 2022 Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. announced that it was named to the Fortune 500 list for the first time since its transformation from a mining company to become the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest supplier of steel to the automotive industry in North America. Cleveland-Cliffs’ 2021 revenue of $20.4 billion earned Cleveland-Cliffs the ranking of 171 on the list for 2022, surpassing its previous highest ranking ever of 366 in 2012. The Fortune 500 list ranks companies that are incorporated and operate in the U.S. by total revenues for their respective fiscal years. Cleveland-Cliffs was named to Forbes America's Best Employers for Veterans 2021. Forbes identified the companies liked best by veterans in the workforce. Cleveland-Cliffs Partners with U.S. Department of Energy through Better Climate Challenge Initiative Cleveland-Cliffs has entered into a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as part of the Better Climate Challenge initiative, a new government-sponsored effort challenging organizations to set ambitious, portfolio-wide GHG emission reduction goals. The initiative provides additional opportunities for peer exchange and technical assistance to meet the urgent call to mitigate the impacts of climate change. As part of the partnership, the DOE will provide technical assistance and opportunities to learn and share actionable best practices for carbon reduction. Through the Better Climate Challenge, Cleveland-Cliffs remains committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 25% by 2030 from 2017 levels. This goal represents combined Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) GHG emission reductions on a mass basis across all operations. The Company is also a proud partner of the Better Plants program.
