The majority of present-day digital and innovation projects typically involve digitising products and services to combine or reach across traditional sectors. Enterprises are changing (shortening) traditional customer journeys or creating new digital-only products which have no obvious spot on the value chain. There is a theme here: industry irrelevance. The lines are increasingly blurred, and we’re seeing industries learning from each other, as technology components mature and techniques are normalised in a way that can be applied the same way to banking, agriculture, retail and media.
Have you ever been told to create a screen, but you have no idea where to begin in creating an effective and delightful interface? Well, this Cookbook is for you! It's designed to be a handbook or go-to guide when facing design choices, whether simplex or complex. We have made design suggestions to help guide you, to meet your user's needs across a wide variety of scenarios. Once you have completed this Cookbook, refer to the resources section to increase your learning and methods around creating user interfaces (UI). This guide is broken down into two sections: Ingredients and Recipes. Ingredients are the UI components, such as buttons or input fields that UI recipes are made of. Recipes are the different methods and tips for putting together UI components in different ways! This book is based on the principles of Atomic Design.

IoT is enabling businesses in numerous industries to prevail – especially industries you would not typically associate with this technology. Manufacturing plants are using machine learning and smart sensors in their manufacturing process, farmers are using IoT to meet growing agricultural demands, and oil and gas companies use IoT devices to optimise drilling procedures. We are glad that you had fun with us, and we really enjoyed getting to know you and learn from you. See what he had to say about the event in his below podcast.
There are few things as powerful as getting the right people in the same room to unpack a problem. A seemingly simple recipe for problem-solving - a design sprint does exactly that. This five-day problem-solving technique is becoming a go-to for companies who want to test ideas, develop a new product, or overcome a pressing business concern. Design sprints are mainly used in two instances: - Innovation: When you are on a mission to reinvent your business. - Wicked problems: Concerns that are difficult to solve because of incomplete, contradictory or changing requirements. The early days of software tooling for businesses were quite unlike what we’re used to now. Decades ago, practically everything was custom-built because it needed to be. Packaged solutions weren’t on the market, and this custom technology is set at the core of most systems today and still performing well. All of this custom software had one glaring problem, which was driving up costs and making maintenance a nightmare for our IT teams: integration. Read the full article below.
