4 Day Week Global , a nonprofit organization supporting the idea of 4-day work weeks, recently wrapped up a global pilot program. According to Jon Leland, Chief Strategy Officer for Kickstarter, the 4-day week is a "true win-win." Many of our employees are now working a 4-day work week and the benefits have been clear: higher employee satisfaction and better productivity. 💙

This month we are celebrating a client who cleared his record by graduating from Drug Court. He also graduated from our residential treatment program, has stable employment in a line of work he is passionate about, and now lives in a safe and stable home. This success takes WORK! Thank you to the Wells Fargo Foundation for generously supporting First Step House's Permanent Supportive Housing program at Medina Place! ✨ Medina Place provides supportive services to help people manage their conditions, access services, and achieve long-term stability. The comprehensive on-site services provided at Medina Place include general supportive services, independent living skills, substance abuse services, employment support, case management, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and peer support services. We're grateful for partners, such as the Wells Fargo Foundation, who make this important work possible!

Taking the first step toward recovery is not easy. We honor the courage and hard work our clients put in every day and the love and support they receive from family.

First Step House operates three Residential Treatment facilities in Salt Lake County, totaling 206 beds! In our residential facilities, clients engage in treatment activities and supportive services throughout the day to address both their substance use disorders and the secondary consequences of addiction, including unstable housing, barriers to employment, and untreated medical and dental conditions.

Meet our rock star Case Management Lead at The Point, Jeanine! Nearing her 6-year anniversary with First Step House, Jeanine is a valued member of our team!

First Step House was incorporated in 1958 by members of Alcoholics Anonymous. The founders started our program in a dilapidated house located in downtown Salt Lake City. The owner of the original 12-room, vacant house agreed to allow the building to be used rent free for six months, if the residents would remodel the building during their stay 💪 First Step House has grown and evolved significantly since its inception. However, we remain committed to working within our community to address the challenge of addiction, mental health, homelessness, and criminal justice involvement.
