Today concluded GVEC's July All Employee Meetings, where General Manager & CEO Darren Schauer provides mid-year progress updates on the company's business plan goals and ongoing projects around the cooperative. This month, we hosted a flu shot drive-thru at multiple GVEC office locations for employees and their families. At GVEC wellness is important to us, and our annual flu shot drive is one of the many initiatives we take to help give our employees the tools for easy health and wellness.
Recruiter Carly has been busy speaking with students, professionals and community members about the many reasons why GVEC is a great place to work! More recently, she attended the All-Majors Career Fair at Texas Lutheran University and the Fall Regional Job Fair hosted by the City of Schertz Economic Development Corporation at the Schertz Civic Center. Yesterday GVEC participated in our annual winter tabletop exercise where we practiced how we would handle a severe weather event. We had a representative from each department attend to provide feedback on how their department would take action during each step of the proposed situation. This interactive exercise is one of the many ways GVEC makes sure we are prepared for anything that comes our way. #TeamGVEC
GVEC has been busy with career fairs this week! Recruiter Carly and Network Engineering Manager Albert spent Tuesday at Texas State University chatting with Engineering students about job and internship opportunities at GVEC. Carly then road tripped over to Prairie View A&M University on Thursday where she met with current students and recent alumni to discuss possible career paths with us.
