HCSS hosted the Houston Chopin Society Festival where participants performed Chopin works followed by lectures and performances from two concert pianists. Mike Rydin, HCSS CEO, performed two Chopin works himself! In the afternoon, the two concert pianists each held a series of master classes in which they listened to performers and critiqued their playing while anyone who wanted to watched. This was pretty scary and Mike was the only member of the HCSS Piano Club willing to try it this time. "I've never done this before, so I did not know what to expect", said Mike, "but it turned out to be very helpful and not scary at all". It went so well the Chopin Society plans to continue hosting at the HCSS offices in the future.
