Child Life Specialists help patients cope with pain and anxiety that they may experience in the hospital. Virtual reality goggles are a great tool that help immerse patients in a relaxing or fun VR experience. For Che, VR goggles were used to help her cope with a medication that would be administered over a lengthy period of time. Instead of watching the medication in her IV, she played carnival games and got a high score! #childlife #virtualreality

James was born in Passaic, NJ and moved to Pittsburgh, PA as a teenager. After graduating from Perry Traditional Academy, James attended Cheyney University, the oldest historically black institution of higher learning in the nation, founded in 1837.
