Animal torture could go unnoticed if it weren't for PETA's marketing team.Investigation videos of ostrich fur farms and PetSmart suppliers were viewed 16 million + times in just a few days. Don't miss one! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIMFE
We're thankful for our marketing team who reached over 3 million views on how to combine saving lives with delicious thanksgiving eats, with the help of some hilarious cursing. Check it & try not to laugh!http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIG6d
Along with important protests reminding shoppers of fur-free options this holiday season, staffers are participating in tons of cruelty-free fun.Vegan potlucks, book clubs and chicken sanctuary trips are all on the social calendar.Happy Thanksliving!
A huge shout out to PETA Latino! In just one day they received over half a million views and reached over 2 million people with their Facebook post asking people to relate to who is on their plate. Check it out! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vI1qj
We did not let this spooky holiday go by without some Halloween inspired animal rights action! peta2's Flesh is For Zombies mobile campaign has been a huge hit so far - more than 2,000 people signed up to get survival messages that help them go vegan! On Halloween Eve, Campus Reps successfully challenged students to “Watch a Scary Video” (a 60-second clip exposing the horror behind the use of animal skins) in exchange for free vegan candy! Looking out for black cats, often discarded and the victims of cruelty around Halloween, PETA’s Mobile Clinic staff spayed/neutered 82 cats for FREE!
This week we hijacked Australian fast food restaurant Chicken Treat's publicity stunt which involved a live chicken, Betty, “tweeting" by walking on a keyboard. Naturally we tweeted our suggestions for translations of Betty's tweets as a means of calling out the hypocrisy of their campaign. We generated strong media coverage with headlines like, "PETA just trolled the #ChickenTweet marketing campaign with some pretty confronting translations" and "PETA hijacks #chickentweet social media campaign with some 'fowl' tweets". Another win for our social team and chickens.
We’re already seeing victories taking place as a result of our Campus Reps’ campaigning efforts. Already, new all vegan dining stations have been opened at UC Irvine and Ohio State, Meatless Mondays has been implemented at Old Dominion University, vegan breakfast entrees have been added at the University of Florida, and vegan entrees were added every day at Miami University, Texas Tech, and Arkansas Tech! We don’t traditionally see such changes implemented until closer to the end of the semester, so this is a very encouraging sign of things to come!
Our social media team keeps innovating with video and it keeps paying off in huge ways. This week was no different. They took some really compelling footage of chicks being ground up in the egg industry and turned it into a short meme/gif/video hybrid that has garnered over 1.3 MILLION views so far. What do you think? http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIpRl
It’s October, which means it’s time for peta2 to release its annual Vegan Report Card, assigning letter grades to all 1,400+ colleges and universities in the U.S., based on how vegan-friendly they are—and we’ve got great news to report. Our data shows that since we started assigning these grades in 2013, the number of A-rated schools has jumped by more than 110%, and the number of "B" schools has climbed by more than 230%! That's more than twice as many schools nationwide that offer all-vegan dining stations. Check out http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIpYs to see how your favorite schools stack up.
Seeing articles like this one from Bloomberg Business showing CEO salary ratios of 644:1 to staff salaries, sure makes us proud to say that our President takes a salary ($40,320 annually) that's LESS than our median staff salary. Our #2, Executive Vice-President Tracy, well, her pay is just a 2:1 ratio to our median staff salary. Talk about leadership who walks the walk, right? http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vIpXS
