Providence Clinical Academy empowers new nurses and fellows. For nurses fresh out of nursing school, jumping immediately into hands-on care for patients can feel as foreboding as plunging into deep water to learn how to swim. Even seasoned nurses can feel a bit at sea when they start a new assignment in a specialized medical unit. By building a standardized education, training and mentorship program for new nurses and for those moving into specialty roles, Providence St. Joseph Health has created the equivalent of water wings for these newbies.
